WIP Clown Change

Yes. I am here finally.


I think we can all agree that Clown is due for his buff. Despite being advertised as an anti-looping Killer, he doesn't do very well at it. He also has low gen pressure. So I made some possible changes to his power and add-ons to make him a little bit more effective.

Movement Speed/Terror Radius: Unchanged. His power does not do any damage directly, thus no need for a change here.

Power:

Capacity increased from 4 to 5. Huntress gets 5 but Clown gets 4? Not very fair.

Intoxication duration after leaving the gas cloud increased from 2.5 seconds to 3.5. This is the slowdown after leaving the gas cloud. While the slowdown seems noticible for Survivors, it hardly seems that way for the Clown.

Size and duration of the gas cloud slightly increased. This will hopefully allow some extra time in between throws for Clown to catch up.

Reload speed reduced from 5 seconds to 3. 5 seconds is too long for a reload on such a weak power.

Slowdown from throwing a bottle removed entirely, however the time in between throws is the same. What this means is that there is no sudden stoppage when throwing a bottle, which debatably means that it is sometimes better to not throw at all and just go for a hit.

Slightly increase movement speed while reloading. Does he need slowdown while reloading?

Slightly increase the visual and audio distortion when Intoxicated. The visual and sound distortion is a cool aspect of the power, but it's really not that strong.

Power Buff:

Clown receives a 4% action speed buff while inside the gas cloud. This means Clown vaults, breaks, picking up Survivors, etc 4% faster. 4% is what Fired Up gives per token, but that might not be enough. The point of this is to help Clown do things faster while in his own smoke, and try to push Survivors away from that loop spot sooner.

Hitting a generator while a bottle contaminates it, which break the gen and leaves a lingering gas cloud that Intoxicates Survivors for 4 seconds and reduces repair speed by 5% for the duration. Survivors are not affected by any add-ons that the Clown is using, and generator perks do not apply to it. Clown will also see the aura of a contaminated generator highlighted in white. Generator pressure is Clown's main weakness aside from map size in general. These numbers might change later.

Hooking a Survivor restores 2 bottles. This save time on getting to the next Survivor or to a gen to break it.

Survivors in lockers will now cough if in range of a gas cloud, but they will not scream like usual. This makes them COUGH, which is not very loud. You have to be very close to hear a Survivor cough.

Hitting a Survivor directly with a Bottle adds an additional 2% slowdown. Right now, direct hits only add visual blur without anything else.

Add-on changes:

Solvent Jug raise to Rare from Uncommon. Arguably Clown's best add on, which drops like a Rare already in the Blood Web, so it should be at that rarity.

Kerosene Can now applies Deafness for 90 seconds, and Blindness for 180 seconds. We Clown mains know that Blindness does nothing, and Kerosene is the WORST add-on for him. So extending the duration of the Blindness (aura blocking) and adding Deafness will give this garbage add-on some value. Right now, Hag is the only Killer with Deafness, so this ultra rare status effect will make Clown more exotic.

Tattooed Man's Middle Finger's rarity lowered from Ultra Rare to Rare. Seeing auras for 6 seconds doesn't warrant an Ultra Rare status. Honestly, Rare is still to high in my opinion.

Sticky Soda Bottle and Old Gin Bottle rarities lowered by one tier. Increasing capacity isn't very important on a non-lethal power.

Redhead's Pinkie Finger applies the Exposed status to Intoxicated Survivors, but tremendously reduces Intoxication duration, gas cloud size and duration, and lowers the bottle capacity by 3. (5 down to 2) This one is essintially Iridescent Head for Clown, except it requires you to aim right at their feet and be able to follow up with a hit in order to get any benefit from the add-on.

I can change whatever seems a bit too much or not as effective as I initially thought. Remember that Clown has a very simple power, which makes it very weak. His add-ons are also somewhat underwhelming, so these changes might make them better and encourage variety in builds.
