Its not the samurai. The trailer is her backstory, the samurai is speaking to his daughter as he carves up her mothers face before killing the mom, you can hear the daughter run away in the trailer. Its their version of a japanese legend, kuchisake onna. (Further proof: the trailer is titled "first cut" which goes with the legend of the ghost mom carving up peoples faces)

Oh my god it is not that killer.

Christ its not even mine even though it looks closer to my guess for a diffrent yokai.

Its a samurai... they showed us the killers weapons in trailers before. Watching that trailer they show us killers mask and his katana.

I think it’s a Koji, it’s a demon that used to be a human woman. They often cry and scream and moan because they are tormented souls. It would be cool if the woman voice came from the sword welder, and the person standing unclothed was the man speaking, hoping to stall the demon with conversation.

I’ve been thinking The Slit Faced Woman since the beginning but this was an interesting idea I thought.

With the yokai and details it fits the bill way better. Kijo was my guess and it fits there tastes. I think people guess kuchisake onna cause its most known and popular yokai. But the power couldn't fit in dbd cause it be benificial to survivors. Stop the killer while she asks you if she is pretty and have to trick her to get away or give her candy offering in some tales. I got so fustrated at everyone guessing that one yokai. I love yokai and really think there doing a tribute to jappenese players that bought there game more than god of war on launch day. Japan has a big love for this game and wish it was my guess the kijo. I think though its just obvious and is a samurai and we saw his mask.

There have been numerous movies of Onna, and eveything that happened in the trailer kinda fits the bill, i think her power will have to do with removing and putting on her mask (she would say "am i pretty?" As she takes off the mask) they added in a daughter for the survivour. But honestly, who knows. All we do know is that its a japanese based killer from a way different time period (oldest current killer is trapper i believe he was in the 1880s ish, but this is fuedal japan. I cant wait for whatever it is)
