Dedicated servers

plz just remove them if they cause so many problems. robbed grabs, weird hitboxes and all this nonsense in a game were miliseconds may decide if u win or lose....

    nothing what you said is an issue with dedicated servers itself, but how the devs decided to code the game/sync process.

    They decided to make hit detection killer sided, so that the server does not have to render the whole game but be more like a "moderator" of the game. If the hit connected on the killers screen, than this will be synched up with the server. Does not matter if you were right in front of him or already across the map. You can already guess whats the issue here: if the killer or surv lags, your position wont be refreshed on his end -> unfair hits. This also happens if one of the two parties plays with a high latency.

    Grabs are not included for the hit detection, and therefor its basicly the other way round. Server checks the surv: hey do you still sit there and work on the gen or ran away? Ok you ran? Lets sync that up -> no grab. Killer sees a grab animation and it immeadiately gets canceled (or paired with a bug / lag, you might get stuck in that animation for some time).

    They said that they're going to work on a server sided hit confirmation. So the killer hits you and then the server decides if that hit was legit. This ensures that if the killer lags (intentional or not) that the hit wont count. If you lag (therefor your position wont be refreshed), then its on you.
