We should get a reward for reaching 1k, 2k, 3k, 4k... hours
1k hours: 5th perk slot and so on

No.

Lmao that would be hella unfair, hope you're trolling, because this is the worst idea in this forum.

While I could see them maybe adding something cosmetic depending on devotion lvl, to add something that actually gives an advantage isnt gonna happen for afew reasons. One, it would be drasticly unfair to have an advantage right off the bat just because you've been playing longer than someone. Theres also two... someone could simply leave the game running and be afk. Lord knows the DBD main menu is in the background behind various windows on my computer all the time.

Obviously gameplay advantages are a clear no-go, but even for cosmetic things I'd rather see devotion level rewards over playtime rewards.
I know someone who pretty much left Team Fortress 2 running whenever their computer was on for a long time and they have ~14 000 hours, and they've probably played 2000 hours. Not saying they're bad at the game or anything but if you want to reward long-time players raw playtime isn't the way to do it. Devotion is a better system and I'm sure most people would happily welcome devotion rewards 🙂

Technically, there is a reward for reach either 1k or 2k hours (I forget which) on the discord channel.

first of all: no, super unfair and pretty dumb.
second of all: are there even games that give so strong permanent effects if you reach a set amount of hours?
0 -
Encourages AFKing. And lobby idling counts aswell so at the end people will just keep their pc running all day long. What's the point?
2 -
For me it is not unfair rewarding the veterans, at least do rewards for devotion levels, otherwise it is so dumb

Yeah a medal pinned right next to your name color coded according to how many hours you have in increments of 1000 for sure. That way people know how experienced you are. They’ll be saying “Oh no.... a platinum billy with over 5000 hours? I better disconnect”
0 -
So the few people who have basically 18k hours should 22 perks ? Sounds extremely dumb.
0 -
Yeah give vets at least a medal! Currently hours played & devotion does NOTHING
0 -
Sure than everyone would boot the game and let it run in the background all day.
1 -
Devotion fixes that, forget about the hours then but reward the vets!

Nice I unlocked the ability to gain unlimited, uncapped BP in a match by reaching 5k hours of AFK lobby sitting!

Sure! Make the good players even better.
That won't encourage bullying.

I agree, i want my 5 extra slots

I can't see why a player who's that experienced would require a 5th perk slot - they are usually the ones that play with no perks or play with non standard perks because they find the game a lot less challenging at that point.
Plus it's a question of balance, a lot of the game would have to be changed to allow Survivors & Killers to have an extra perk slot, and that would be a crazy amount of work and it would need to be done across the board, not just for more experienced players, who are the ones that don't need it.

soo a player would be awarded for leaving his game on while they do other stuff for 1k hours?
genius!

I can already see streamers like Edgar who's at devotion 18 right now just running 22 perks on survivor/killer. And he's not even the one with highest devotion, lmao.

im also devotion 4, so ridiculous there is no reward
ps: imma relieve my frustration punishing hooked survs with Bubba facecamper

A bloodpoint boost would probably be fair but a more perk slots would be broken
0 -
An extra 5th perk wont have impact to be broken at all. Build are incomplete and our fun not enhanced, creating frustration
Consider we have 74 (yes, seventyfour) surv and 69 (yes, sixtynine) killer perks, to choose just 4 like when DBD was born
95% of surv perks are unused, Gosh... why am I the only who see a 5th perk (or more) would be great and not broken for DBD...
0 -
I am not gonna spend my time listing the most obvious and broken combinations you can have with 5 perk slots. You're the only one who sees it's not broken because you yourself don't understand why people don't want a 5th perk slot, not to mention giving it to someone with plenty of hours in the game (effectively giving them a huge unfair advantage)
It would also break other game mechanics like totems, say you brought Haunted Grounds and 4 other Hex Totems. Or how about combinations that can be abused by certain killers due to how powerful their synergy is with those perks.
Do you really want to go against a Doc with Distressing, Monitor & Abuse, Huntress Lullaby, Ruin and Thrill of the Hunt?
Or a Freddy with Pop, Ruin, BBQ, Brutal Strength and Dying Light?
Or an Oni with Distressing, Monitor & Abuse, Infectious Fright, Sloppy and Nurse's Calling?
Please, if you want to create actual suggestions for the game, think things through. Being stubborn about it and claiming that we don't "get it" won't change anything.

An extra perk will mean NOTHING. Any combination of 5 perks will be balanced since both killers and survs will have 5 perks as well
I dont care any combination of perks you have. About the totems, nothing that devs cannot fix or rework like changing a bit the numbers
If you want to add some nerf to a 5th perk, then ok, make mandatory to use the 5th as a base perk of the char

Mandy herself have said there's no reason to add a 5th Perk slot, not to mention the amount of balancing that would take to make sure no perks are broken. Granted she is a mod and not a dev but I am sure she knows more about the balance of the game than either of us if she works as a moderator for the forum we are talking about the game in.
Look at pretty much everyone who replied to this thread, no one wants this.
0 -
So you want to see thrill of the hunt, devour hope, third seal, retribution, and huntress lullaby every game?
0 -
yea why not?
0 -
Do you care about balance at all?
0 -
an extra perk wont have any impact in the balance at all, absolutely
0 -
So you don't care, gotcha. I'll stop talking and giving you replies now.
