Will exit gates ever get fixed distances?

I know this may make it unfair for killers but so many times, I've seen the exit games either on the same wall or on adjacent walls right next to each other.

Shouldn't gates have a minimum fixed distance like with the game and lerys?

Lately there have been a number of killer buffs in the game. I wonder when the devs will address this. With the EGC squeezing the options for survivor at a gate it seems like this is a good idea.

For the most part, I find it ok and sometimes the tension is kinda fun but them when they're next to eachother and you have a billy or spirit who take 3 seconds to get to an exit it becomes a bit of a problem.

I don't main either side but some maps with massive dead zones need to be made smaller for slower stealth killers to be able to pressure and gates need to be further away if not on opposite sides of the map. I'd almost say that gates should have fixed spawns but I don't know how well that would go.

well, if no one opens the gates, killer will be forced to make decision.

Patrol back and forth over and over, or just open the gate and get to next match.

I have opened the gate to initiate EGC, and after that gedtting out is def possible if you play stealthy to get out and not divebomb the gate.

Have I done the backl and forth thing? yes, but after about 1500 hours you get tired of those type of wins LOL I rather just get to the next game, its like 3 gen strat, its boring.

this is really only a problem when one survivor is left. when 2 or more are left the killer cant really protect the gates. the second he comits to a chase he loses the gates.

I think they are referring to EGC, but there are some situations where the Killer does not have to patrol anything but can still stand between those Gates (maybe even on a Hill) and see both without moving.

THis should not happen. And it should also not happen that Killer closes the Hatch and sees that the Gates are impossible to patrol.

There should be a fixed minimum and maximum distance of Gates to each other AND to the Hatch.

If the EGC has started with no gates open, the survivors have effectively failed. Having bad gates at that point doesnt really change the fact that, again, they have failed already. It SHOULD be in the killers favor.

Gate RNG is a bit of a mess, yes.

Either they're too close and the killer auto-wins, or they're too far and the survivor (generally) auto-wins.

Although, really, the entire Hatch/EGC/Gates thing is a last-ditch effort the survivor after the entire team has failed. I'm not sure that it really needs to be particularly fair to either side.

It is one of those things that needs to be fixed. It is either extremely bad for the last survivor, or extremely bad for the killer. There is rarely a great in-between situation. What makes me sceptical that they will change it is the new map. The gates there are unfortunately very killer-sided, and they always spawn at the same location. You can expect quite a lot of complaints about that one.

There should always be a chance. EGC will even be killer-sided when the Killer cannot stand on a Hill between two Gates.

But well, as long as people who say that "Gates too close" is fine are not complaining about the Gates far away from each other...

In my opinion, the most balanced maps would be the game and the lab. I also find Badham and Lery's quite balanced most of the time for the gates and hatch (except for when the hatch decides it wants to spawn in the school basement of Badham like 90% of my games).

I feel the gates should be in a situation of both survivor and killer just pick a gate and whatever happens happens. Obviously killers like billy and spirit may be able to check both and trapper can prepare if survivors don't react to it soon enough.

But I'm also in the camp of a lot of the older maps need to be made smaller as there is a lot of nothing in lots of the maps that don't need to be there.
