My Idea on how to fix Dead by Daylight's game speed issues
So its no surprise to anyone that the match time is too short past certain ranks, (usually around 10). Most can agree that the best solution to padding out games, isn't to make gens slower. but to add new objectives. The Devs have discussed doing this, but didn't have everything 100 yet, so I will offer my idea on how to fix this issue, and potentially fix a plot hole or two.
New Mechanic, The Repair Manual:
Knowledge is power, and most survivors don't know two licks about generator repair, so in order to fix the gens they will need to read up first.
When match starts the survivors will not be able to repair generators. To unlock the ability they will need to each find and read/use an item called a generator repair manual.
Repair manuals can be found in chests. these chest could look different, or the manuals could be randomly sorted into the regular chests.
Four chest on the map would contain manuals, and these chests could be anywhere, except the basement (as that is a guaranteed item chest)
Upon finding a manual, the survivor must pick it up and read it using the action button (this would consume the manual)
After reading a manual a survivor could repair just like they can now.
This change in my opinion would make games last a little bit longer, but not too much longer. It would make perks like ruin less needed, while also making perks like plunderers look more desirable. This would also reward skills like map awareness, and stealth a bit more, as you wouldn't want to be caught prior to finding your manual. Above all else, this mechanic would fix the plot hole of how every survivor can repair gens without training.

This is a really interesting idea actually, but I think survivors got nerfed to sh!t already with all those recent changes. If the the killer uses the standard "rank1killerheheboi" loadout (Ruin,Noed,Bbq,Nurses,mori) then every killer could get easy 4k with almost no skill whatsoever. I'd love to see your idea tho in the perkless game mode if it'll ever coming to the game

Survivors are still OP and ez to play against most of the killers. Have u ever asked urself why killers in rank 1 use mori so often? cuz survivors are too OP and that is THE ONLY FREAKING chance to get 4k rn. Killers are still shiiiit even if they got a little buff.

I love that idea, I would love too see some perk's to counter a toxic behaviour such as tunneling, camping etc

Off the top of my head, maybe something along the line of "if a killer is with 26 meters of a hooked survivor the hooks take longer (add 1 extra minute), but if they arent the hooks go faster (like 20-30 seconds less)
This would be a base change ide love to see tbh, helps with time issue a bit, but also screws of camping which is pretty toxic tbh.0 -
