What speed are coop actions?
Are coop actions twice as fast as regular actions or what exactly?
Players always insist on healing you instead of using self care since its way faster, but now youre taking two players out of the game instead of one. Often you'll see players waste a ton of time running across the map to come heal or do a coop gen. Moreover teaming up on gens is obviously popular but it means that if the killer shows up two or more players are now of their gen instead of just one.
What I therefore wanna know is do coop actions actually increase the speed at which an individual survivor performs their action? Isn't it otherwise just a waste of time to group up (except for doing dangerous gens)?

It depends on the action. Generators for example (1 survivor: 80 seconds, 2 survivors: 47.06 seconds) The list goes on and can be seen in the DBD Generator page. I am not too sure about healing though.
Co-op actions offers a few things though. The other survivors gets points for healing, but if you are both working on a gen, both of you get extra points.
For self care, it is usually advised to have someone else heal because even though it may be more efficient to have that one other person on a gen, if you get interrupted, not only have you lost your healing progress, but you have now given the killer pressure that someone will have to leave a gen anyway.
TLDR: Usually for points and to reduce the risk of your healing being interrupted.

Self-Care works at half the speed of another survivor healing you. It is way more efficient to get healed by one or more fellow survivors, because you can get it done in a matter of seconds.
Time to repair a generator benefits from having multiple people work on it simultaneously, but that is subject to diminishing returns.
- 1 Survivor = 80 sec.
- 2 Survivors = 47 sec.
- 3 Survivors = 38 sec.
- 4 Survivors = 36 sec.

Just to add to the above for clarity's sake, cooperative healing is twice as fast as one person healing another, so it's usually worth doing if you happen to have three people in one place. Cooperative repairs is faster, but less efficient, than solo repairs, so if you want to maximise efficiency it's usually only worth doing on the last generator.

You do actions at a base of 1 charge per second.
- Gens = 80 charges
- Healing = 16 charges
- Hooks = 6 charges (though it appears bugged)
- Totems = 14 charges
- Gates = 20 charges
When you co-op repairs you get a 15% debuff each, so 0.85 c/s for 2 of you. But it's doubled since there are 2 of you, so you are applying 1.7 c/s collectively.
Healing does not have any debuff, so you do it at 2 c/s. 16/2 = 8 seconds for a 2 man heal. You can't do more than 2 person heal, but it can be faster/slower depending on buffs/debuffs.
