Question About Trapper Traps

I was a Trapper main on the ps4 and got to rank 1 with him. I switched over to P.C. and played around with other killers but this last week I decided to go back to Trapper. For some reason suriviors are just running straight through my traps! I've never had this problem on ps4 but on P.C. it seems like 70% of my traps can be dodged so easily. People tell me that I need better placement but for a couple of matches I took my time (a lot of time) to make sure the traps were dead center and they still get past them. Let me make it clear too, they're not disarming them, they're going past them. I'll chase them and I'll see them go right through the traps.

Question:

What am I doing wrong? Are there videos explaining the problem?
