PS: ive tested it with the knife aswell, and that doesnt force the character to be female - its just the mask (well and the body, but that is intentional xD)

It’s a known issue. There is many threads made about it. I guess they don’t feel like rushing with a fix untill chapter update. Tbh game breaking bugs are also left in the game like this all the time and sometimes remain unpatched for multiple updates.
