There is no right or wrong between the two. It really depends on your playstyle.

Do you want your exhaustion perk to help you running those loops? Go with Dead Hard.

Do you want your exhaustion perk to quickly take you to a safer area when being found in a dead zone? Go with Sprint Burst.

Yes. Now that you already got it, I would suggest test it :P and next time ask before you get it to know if it fits you.

I personally don't like Dead Hard because it doesn't allow the timed dodges anymore on dedicated servers, too often exhausted on the ground if you try that

I used to love Dead Hard and the timed dodges, but i think it has become too unreliable now so i end up using it just to get that extra distance.

As of now Sprint Burst is what I'd use between the two, but it excels only when you learn how to 99% it. It might be counterproductive if you purposefully don't run anymore just to keep it ready.

yeah, ive been using sprint burst for a good minute now and i few days ago i noticed that i stopped running. Like, when the game starts ill walk aroun, do gens, etc until the killer comes and sometimes even when the killer comes ill stilk walk around and try to sneak around him or hide smh but it does reallly help.

    Keep in mind that

    • Dead Hard is only usable when injured, and in most instances only to slightly extend the distance between you and the killer. I honestly cannot even be certain if Dead Hard in its current incarnation is actually even still capable of the no-damage dash that it purports to allow. It is incredibly difficult to pul off (l have not once, ever) successfully, not to mention on a continuous basis to make it truly effective.
    • Sprint Burst, as someone above already mentioned, becomes the most useful, not when used strictly for those daring escapes, but to propel a survivor you from one interaction to the next. Always try to take advantage of the timer the action you are planning to move towards will offer you. Generator repair, token cleaning, chest searching, and healing will typically replenish your Sprint Burst timer sufficiently enough to have it ready for your next move. (On the other hand, using the Sprint right after unhooking another player, is not only less than optimal but will often make you look like a jerk, if you approach so slow that the killer happens to come back and cause an unsafe unhook)

Sprint Burst is not exactly a chase perk, like Dead Hard. There are two other perks that fall somewhere in between SB and DH, namely Lithe and Balanced Landing. Lithe is pretty fantastic as it allows you to still run without suffering from exhaustion and keep haste in your back pocket if need be. You can even wait until you actually get injured to use it (or even have it kick in as you are getting injured across a vault).

Dead hard can save you after do a risky save and then the killer hit the borrowed time survivor.

Dead hard can save you after the killer mindgame you.

Dead hard allow to troll a trapper.

Dead hard allow to duplicate the chase vs a nurse/huntress/deathslinger/demogorgon.

VS instadown killers like Noed/Rancor/Tier3Myers/etc worth more play injured and use dead hard than heal.

Imagine a bubba coming to the basement and the guy who unhook you don't have borrowed time.... sprint burst not gonna let you pass the chainsaw but dead hard does.

And well, anything you can do with sprintburst is easy as start running earlier, also is very annoying when you are on hook and enter on second phase or even die because the guy who run sprintburst don't wanna use it, and the time it takes to come make the killer decide to check the hook...
