Quiet Generator on New Map

Take this lightly, cause unfortunately I didn't record the match, but while repairing a generator on Midwich Elementary it was nearly dead silent- my repair noises were louder than the gen until ~75% completion, even though I was right on top of it. It was a 3-man generator in one of the classrooms- I wish I could be more specific. Anyone else encounter this problem?
