Is wiggling supposed to be more effective on different platforms?

I play on pc and my boyfriend plays on switch. We're both new so idk if it's that I'm not understanding something about the wiggle mechanic, if it's an issue of difference between controllers and m+k, or if wiggling is balanced different for different platforms but there's a marked difference between our experiences.

He regularly complains about Kate Denson and her Big Wiggles, and watching him play I see her slamming his bubba into walls and getting away fairly easily. Kate is the obvious contrast point but everyone's wiggles seem more effective.

When I play killer on pc, kate's wiggles barely effect me. I can notice that she's stronger than others, but only in extreme circumstances do I have to worry about her actually stopping me from hooking her. My movement is barely impeded by her wiggles, or anyone else's for that matter. Then I get off the computer, walk in the living room, and see kate dragging my bf across the map with the power of her hips.

Why are our experiences with wiggling so different?

Clarifying question: when you see your boyfriend getting shunted all around, is there a red diamond with a horse in it next to his perks? If so, then you're seeing Boil Over in action, which is one of Kate's unique perks. If you're both just starting out, then it'll be more common that people are running minimal perks, and have fewer teachables. Boil Over makes it so your wiggling shifts the killer a lot more, and they don't see hook auras that are within 10 meters of them while carrying them.

As for why you're seeing less of that on PC, I can only guess that you're running into new Kates less frequently (so they have actual builds instead of just using what they have), but I also haven't played on Switch so I can't say for sure.

If you're using Iron Grasp, that also decreases the power of wiggling moving you around.

I've seen boil over in action both on switch and on pc, and it seems drastically more effective on switch than it does on pc. I've used boil over in a kyf game or two and it doesn't seem nearly as effective as it does on switch. But if there's no mechanical differences then I'm willing to say I'm imagining it, but the perception is there.
