How to fix the current game speed regarding generator repair speed
I want to start with saying that at this moment, you need ruin to have a proper match on the live servers.
My proposal to fix this issue would be this:
At the start of the match a hex totem will always spawn on the map that contains a new effect. This hex totem will slow down repair progression by (lets say) 25%. This would make generators take 100 seconds to repair without breaking this new totem.
So now a person can choose to either go look for this totem, since it is always in the game you can also always get progress for the 100 hex totem broken achievement while the killer does not have any hex perks active, or go repair a generator right off the bat. It creates a choice just like today's ruin does, but you will ALWAYS know this new mechanic is now on the map, so it basically slows down the start of the game, just like ruin does, but without needing to use a perk slot for it. It would also solve the hex totem breaking achievement since there is always at least 1 active baseline.
Ruin would obviously need to be reworked since its role would be baseline, so they could make it in to something like a reduction to generator skill check zones OR rework it into a hex totem that shows the progression on each generator on how they are repaired, similar to the new wraiths ultra rare add-on. It would still be a hex totem, but it would NOT notify the survivors of its existence. This would create a hex totem that is not game changing like the others, so the survivors will have no way of finding out its active, only by searching the map if they want to.
I think this change would help the game's speed, since games can last very shortly on the high ranks, and it would not destroy low rank experience since everyone will always know that his new mechanic, this hex totem that always spawns, will always be there, so no guessing is required, you have two straight choices on what you want to do at the start of the match.
