'Mindbreaker' Perk needs to change.

Before I begin, I have made this post before on General Discussions and am posting again under Feedback and Suggestions in hopes of getting the attention of our developers of Dead by Daylight. This is not to say my proposed idea should be made, but rather to spark interest in making a change for the perk being discussed. Also I originally intended this post to be made in Feedback and Suggestions, that was my mistake. Still new to using the forums I feel. Thank you for your time, and I hope you enjoy the following.

'Mindbreaker' is the killer perk belonging to The Demogorgon. While repairing Generators with less than a 50% repair progression, Survivors are afflicted by the Exhaustion Status Effect. Any existing Exhaustion Status Effect timers are paused while the Survivor is repairing a Generator. After ending the Repair action, the Survivor is afflicted by the Exhaustion Status Effect for 1/2/3 second(s).

Mindbreaker has some synergy with the perk Blood Echo, a perk which when a Survivor is hooked, any injured Survivors will be affected with the Haemorrhage and Exhausted Status Effect for 45 seconds. It works rather well for killers that can easily injure Survivors, such as The Legion and The Plague. Aside from this strategy, Mindbreaker fails to land a lasting effect on its own, let alone when paired with other perks. Its main flaw is that it doesn't do enough, the lasting effect is minuscule and delaying the Exhaustion Effect timer though useful only lasts until 50% progression of the Generator is done.

So the effect of Mindbreaker is weak and thus produces no lasting effect in your favor, so how to improve this?

Increasing the numbers on Mindbreaker would be the simplest solution, however I feel that it would become more of an annoyance to Survivors then an obstacle to overcome. It would also specifically target users of Exhaustion perks which although strong are not always guaranteed to be used in every game.

Mindbreaker needs a change, but my proposed idea would be a partial rework rather than a complete one. A quick overview of The Demogorgon shows that it focuses on impacting both the environment and its inhabitants in unexpected ways, damaging nearby Generators through its attack in Surge and blocking nearby vault locations to punish Generator progression through Cruel Limits.

So, let's offer new ideas for Mindbreaker which affect either the Survivors and/or their environment.

My idea would be this.

Mindbreaker: While repairing Generators, Survivors are afflicted by the Oblivious Status Effect. Any existing Status Effect timers are paused while the Survivor is repairing a Generator. After ending the repair action, the Survivor is afflicted by the Oblivious Status Effect for 5/7/10 seconds.

The idea of the perk delaying any status effect timers is intriguing and provides flexibility along with perk synergy, so I would like to keep that effect. However, it would be altered so that any current status effect timers will be paused as the Survivor repairs a Generator. Rather than keeping a Survivor Exhausted, my goal is to hinder their tracking of the Killer through the Oblivious Status Effect so as to keep Survivors alert whilst repairing Generators. It would not be the strongest perk by any means, but these two effects allow better perk synergy and flexibility for alternative strategies while in theory remaining true to The Demogorgon's focus on impacting both the environment and its inhabitants.

Do you agree or disagree with my proposed change for Mindbreaker? Support your thoughts and if you have other changes in mind, feel free to share your thoughts and share this idea in case the developers were to notice.

I like it! Not only does it create a new kind of pressure with potentially every killer (except Huntress), but it fits (they're overly focused on the task at hand; you have broken their focus on their surroundings). However, it would be almost entirely countered by Spine Chill or Premonition.

Spine Chill is a very underrated perk in my opinion, but I do feel Premonition needs something more to make it equal in value to Spine Chill. As it is, Spine Chill outclasses it in my perspective. Thank you for your feedback, I am glad my idea wasn't too awful 😅😁
