im running this perk now for 30+ games and not a single match i got use of it.. im trying my best but its just so bad.

so games go to quick, nobody wants to heal or you just dont get skillchecks.

give that a perk a 20 - 30% chance of triggering a skillcheck and nerf the progress bonus to 5-10% per stack

people will never go away from the meta with trash perks. Yes i said trash, sorry but when its not working in 30+ games then its just trash.

I think the perk needs to cause regular skillchecks so it's less feast or famine. Maybe similar to snapping out of it every 50% healed causes a skillcheck? Maybe allow you to proc it on selfcaring for half the token and it doesn't give bonus progress, only negative progress if the tokens are low.

Just spitballing, I don't know. But you're right it needs a buff. It's a scary perk because if it's too good it'll be unfun and busted to play against.

Honestly if they could increase the rate of triggering skill checks while healing with Autodidact. That would probably be enough to at least make the perk okay. It's main weakness is the ridiculously inconsistent nature of it.

Yesterday I ran it for one game. I got all 5 checks within the first two full heals. I then never got another healing check the entire game despite running around as a medic the whole time. It was comical.

If you were guranted at least 2 skill checks per heal it would be an okay perk. As it stands, it's trash.

Might as well run botany knowledge instead of autodidact

Autodidact itself is barely impactful. I ran it with Empathy and Spine Chill for a while. Extra 10 % on triggering skill checks is not much, but at least something.

I find it fun to use now and then, but it's definetely way too situational and often keeps you away from focusing on main objectives.

Still there are worse perks that could use a buff for they're neither good nor fun to use. Better together, Buckle Up or Cruel Limits (on killer side), just to name a few.

I spent a busy afternoon at work...reading the descriptions for each and every perk in DBD.

Autodidact was the one I looked at thought "That really is crap."

Auto didact is so strong if you manage to get the 5 stacks at early game. I played a game with Auto didact, solidarity, mettle and emphaty, I managed to get 5 stacks at 2 min game.

3 survivors(including me) were injured, we started healing each other, I got luck with skills checks, we all 3 healed under 10 seconds.

If you have time for it to kick in, you're already winning, so it doesn't really do anything for you.

    Autodidact has potential.

It's just too slow. And random.

Skills checks need to be made more common. This is needed for both autodidact and stakeout.
