[PC] Pallet stun did not stun killer carrying a survivor
Playing on Gideon Meat Plant against The Spirit, another survivor gets knocked down while waiting next to a pallet. killer goes to pick up the survivor and I swoop in for the pallet save. I dropped the pallet, it played the sound for me hitting and stunning a killer, I received the points for a Killer Stun, but they didn't get stunned or drop the survivor.
In the post-game chat the killer claimed they weren't actually in range of the pallet on their own screen and that I didn't actually hit them. On my own screen I definitely hit them and even got the points for it.
Pretty sure this is the right log file? This is my first bug report so I'm not 100% certain.

So pallets will ALWAYS stun a killer with a hit, but they won't drop the survivor unless you hit them as their pickup animation is ending. It's the same with flashlight saves. If you blind them while they're actively picking up the survivor, they'll be blinded, but won't drop the survivor. You have to execute it right at the end of their pickup animation. It's not a bug; it just sucks.
I guess on a realistic level, it makes sense, since the animation of a survivor being dropped is them coming off their shoulder and landing behind them. Pallet stunning them while the survivor is under them will result in the survivor winding up under the pallet. Smacking them while the survivor is on their shoulder will knock them back, allowing the carried person to break off. Same with a flashlight stun. Picking someone up and turning only to be blinded by a bright af light would make you likely to lose your balance and enable them the means to get off. I doubt they put that much consideration into it, but yeah, it's just a timing thing.
The best way to get better is to practice your timing. I know it sucks to swoop in ready for that save only for it not to work. And I'll take another guess and say that after that epic letdown, the killer proceeded to hook them and then chase you down immediately. It's a double whammy.
Edit: Took another quick look, and forgot where you mentioned the killer said they weren't even near the pallet, so I'm not sure what to say on that. He probably was, but again, didn't actually get stunned, because you were doing it too early in the pickup animation.
