Mori's and kills in general.
I know post like this are probably common but this sort of thing does really bother me. Since I got to rank 1 survivor, I have stopped caring about my rank at all but I still have friends who get messed up by some fairly inbalanced stuff.
First is moris. I'm aware of the contraversy of a mori and the idea of it getting removed does sound nice to me, but also unlikely. Thats why I have a counter proposition. My idea is that the survivors get a perk with similar overpowered-ness. The mori means the killer can end the game by skipping 2 hookings for each survivor, so why not add an offering that allows the survivors to power the exit gates with half as many gens done? I know a bunch of killer mains will think this is ridiculous but think about it. Can you honestly say that a mori is balanced? Even the best players struggle against a killer with a mori even if they are better than the killer. Moris really take the skill out of the game considerably. A balanced game with good matchmaking will usually result in a few deaths and pretty much everyone getting hooked at least once. So if a balanced game results in deaths anyways, then why make it 3 times easier for the killer without giving the survivors an item for that also? Keys dont count in this in my opinion either. They are much rarer than ebony moris (I have over 40 moris on michael within 80 bloodwebs and I have 8 keys on nea within 150) and even if you do bring a key, the hatch only spawns when number of survivors + 1 gens are complete, and even then it can be hard to find, while a mori you just have to hook once then you can kill them next time they're down. Theres nothing anyone can say that will make that sound balanced to me.
My second point is perks and addons that kill survivors. This is mainly michael though. When playing against things like a tombstone piece, its pretty damn hard to counter it. The judiths tombstone is semi alright because of the crazy slow speeds you walk at but the tombstone piece can end the game for someone instantly. I played a game recently where we got 3 gens done and everyone apart from me had been hooked just once. To me, this was a good game so far. I had won a few chases, got some people off the hook and done a gen but the michael tiered up on someone else then walked over to me and used the tombstone piece on me before I got to a pallet. This got me fairly tilted at the time as I had done well that game and I depipped because of an overpowered perk. I know the tombstone piece ends tier 3 instantly when used but that still ruins the game for one person. I'm not going to ask that they are removed as they are pretty damn rare (rarer than the judiths tombstone in my experience) however, my idea is that if a survivor is killed by one of these addons or offerings, then possibly considerably lower the requirements for a safety pip, or make the safety pip gaurenteed. Im not asking to make the pip and easier to get, just the safety. Its near impossible to avoid things like this. That game, I was the only person who had not yet been hooked but I still died first and depipped. I honestly didn't think it was worth making this post about since i don't care too much for my rank anymore, ive got the achivement for rank 1 I can just play the game now, but my friend I was playing with at the time got mad for me, and I saw that it really was an unfair depip. Losing that pip does not represent the skill of a survivor if something like that happens. I am also aware that I do sound like an entitled survivor to some people right now, and I just want you to know I play killer also, but I main survivor. I think that when people escape through the hatch during EGC, the killer should get the bloodpoints of a sacrifice or just shy of that, as there is no demonstration of skill when a survivor leaves through the hatch, its just a matter of who finds it first. Obviously a survivor can use a map or Left Behind to make it easier though.
My final rant is instadowns. I know some killers it is their thing and thats okay, mostly, but some killers have it way too easy with addons. Redhead's pinky finger is one of them. The clown suffers no speed reduction after throwing a bottle, so all they need to do is get real close to a survivor and throw that bottle, within a second of hitting them with a bottle they can swing and the chase is over. Thats very unbalanced in my opinion. The clown is fast af for a fat boy its hard to run him anyways, but an addon that can end chases just like that? Not at all balanced. I could talk about the iridicent head on huntress, but everyone and their mother knows how overpowered that is, the fact that its still in the game after this long is genuinely shocking. Every single time I have played against that, Ive had at least one teammate DC and the killer is always trying to be toxic. I know Bubba just had a rework, but I really hate how quickly his chainsaw recharges. he can chase me around the map with that chainsaw and I could get lucky and 360 him or something if I cant find a window or pallet but then he can pretty much instantly go again. I know instadowning is his thing, but I never see him M1. Sometimes at windows ill get a smack but usually, they just wait a few seconds and dont give me that boost from the hit. I know he has his tantrums but if he doesnt hit anything then he can just walk away, thats my problem here since its fairly easy to just not hit a wall. Other than that, the rework is pretty damn good. It just really makes killers like michael obsolete. Michael has to stalk to get just a minute of instadown without any addons while bubba can do it from the start of the trial without any downsides. That makes the only benefit of playing michael the tombstone pieces or fragrent tuft of hair (which is really fun to play with and against I wont lie, as it does take around 2 generators worth of stalking to get to work which seems fairly balanced to me. Its just at the edge of balanced and unbalanced, as it does make it a fair bit easier for the killer)
Yeah well thanks for reading my rant. These are just some things that have been on my mind about the game. Obviously a completely balanced game is impossible, but it would be nice to see some of the crazy stuff gone or matched for surviros. I know survivors and killers get buffed and debuffed frequently but the big things like moris are never taken out. Survivors dont even have a ultra rare offering anymore since the new moon bouquet, which didnt really match the power of an ebony mori.
Christ I wrote a lot....

So, you think anything powerful is bad?

No no no, I dont think its bad so to say, but I think that if something that is near impossible (not impossible but exceptionally hard) to avoid then people shouldn't derank for it. I know its fun to play as killer with a tombstone piece or a mori, but since they are perks that move the goalposts, then why arent the pip goalposts moving with it?

As a killer main I am not a fan of ebony mori's for that matter or cypress mori's. Here's be my alternative changes.
Cypress Mori's: Can kill one survivor once all generators are powered (That way killers don't gotta hook camp end game :) )
Ivory Mori: Leave as is
Ebony Mori: Limit it to one survivor like Ivory but remove the hook requirement (so I can kill that one toxic player with object of obsession whose been flashlighting me the whole game :) )
Anyway that's my thoughts.

Im a fan of the cypress mori change and the ivory is fine imo but the ebony change you talk of just sounds like the same as a tombstone piece, just a little less op. Not a huge fan of that but its progress, much better than the current one lmao

Yeah I mean if I am playing a weak killer with not a lot of pressure like clown and am against strong survivors I think the current mori system helps level the playing field and turns the match from an easy boring win for survivors to an actual challenge. However if I am a strong killer with a lot of map pressure like Freddy against not so good survivors it feels very overpowered and can ruin the match.
If with the new mmr they made it so you match with players above your skill level when you have a mori equipped that might help balance it. Although I cannot say for sure...

that could balance it to an extent but if your a rank 1 killer... then the survivor is gonna die lmao
