Borrowed Time not working

I was running borrowed time as one of my perks, I also used kindred, dead hard, and adrenaline. When the killer hits the unhooked survivor within one to three seconds of being unhooked they went down into the dying state. I played as Meg and Jake and this occurred in different matches, once against a Hag and also against Myers.
