Failure to join friends lobby XBOX ONE

After loading dead by daylight, the game works fine. I can join random lobbies, view the store, customize character. The only issue is that I can’t join my friends lobby, and he can’t join mine. Every time we attempt to join the lobbies a notification informs us that the connection was unsuccessful
