PC- Cannot Adjust Mouse Sensitivity

Steam player on PC.
I have an issue where adjusting the mouse sensitivity option in the menus for the Killer doesn't cause any change in-game. The sensitivity is currently far too high.
Edit- for reference, I have tried- uninstalling repeatedly, verifying the integrity of the game cache, and even going into the game's .ini file.
