Can Killers Have the Option to Forfeit?
My biggest problem with the DC penalty is not on survivor. It's when I am playing killer and I don't have a fast way to end the match. The way forfeiting could work is
- Killer loses X% of Blood Points
- The Killer will automatically depip
- The Survivor should be compensated with a X amount of Blood Point
Add or remove whatever you want but I just want there to be a way to quickly end the match especially with killer lock is still in the game.
Edit: A poster gave the solution of the killer being able to open the exit at any point in the trial. This is by far the easiest and one of the better solutions in this post.

DC'ing is a sin against humanity, but please let killers do it because they're special.
11 -
It takes too long especially if survivors don't want to do gens and just mess around.
2 -
If you give Killers a legal way to depip, its going to be exploited.
19 -
I never said it was impossible to play killer. LMAO. Survivors have a fast way of leaving a match why can't a killer have one too?
3 -
Firstly it is funny when a 3 to whatever minute wait is advices when survivor player whine about 4 minute bleed out (and yes I know it's boring and I don't defend last person slug bleed out)
Secondly tell exactly this to survivor diving into the killer to suicide when they don't want to play the specific map, killer or whatever.
2 -
He is not talking about a equivalent to a DC but to survivor suiciding early in the game to avoid DC penalties and that killer can't do that without waiting 5 minutes or maybe forever when the survivor notice that the killer gave up and stop progressing the game.
And yes DC'ing is a jerk move in my eyes since I feel a sense of obligation to other people is start to play team games with.
But hey we are all anonymous in the wide internet so we are safe to be jerks since noone can really punish us. Just show much about the attitude and character of people as soon as they are not "controlled".
1 -
Imagine being killer who can dodge any lobby, yet, continue to complain...
2 -
I'm Talking about people kermiting on hook. I'm not talking about free wins. If I get Ormond as trapper against a squad that knows what they are doing, why should I be forced to wait for the survivors to do gens?
2 -
Double standards are strong here.
2 -
I can't control what maps I get and no I will not bring a map offering every game because I don't have many to use in the first place. Why would I want to play as an addonless/slowdownless nurse on rotten fields?
0 -
Baby killers wanting the world handed to them on a silver platter and the devs obliging are destroying the balance of this game, because actually decent killer use those same advantages.
1 -
What are you even talking about? How is a forfeiting option for killer a silver platter handed to them?
2 -
Killers already have it as easy as its gonna be. I even switched from survivor main to killer main just to have chill matches and better bp gains... And you want yet even more killer favored special treatment.
2 -
Because what you're asking for is literally the option to DC without the penalty and retaining some points.
The same thing killers are constantly condemning survivors for.
3 -
Okay let's try a different approach to his plea.
Killer don't get to quit the game without DC but survivor can't die/don't go to second stage on first hook in the first 4 minutes of the game or 5 gens are done. (But also no Kobe in this time)
This should be an extreme buff against camping (because it gets completely useless with this much time) and if the killers are still dumb enough to do it 4 minutes should be more than enough to finish 5 80sec gens and even go for an unhook.
But if you unhook them and they still want to suicide they can on second try. Just shows then that even with such an advantage they want to screw their team.

I get what you’re asking for. Essentially this problem should be fixed by mmr. When matched well the ‘this is just impossible feeling’ is largely gone.
having a very mismatched one sided game is usually crap but often it’s just a gen rush and is over quickly so no big deal.
The issue I think the OP has is the ball is kinda in the survivors court when it comes to this because if they decide to stop doing gens and farm up points a mismatched killer kind of has to just suck it up till game end.
A mismatched survivor game is usually quick death and move on but a mismatched killer game can be either gen rush or 20 mins of ineffective chasing while better players farm them.
good matchmaking is the key rather than a quit function in my opinion.
Also to the more toxic posters on this thread. You are either too dumb to understand what the OP meant or you’re a complete arsehole either way think before you post next time and you’ll look less like a twat.

There Is a big difference when a survivor and a killer disconnect. When a killer does it, the match is ended. The survivor can immediately start looking for a different match and they still technically "won" because the game considered it an escape.
When a survivor disconnect, there are still 4 other people in a match that they have to continue unless the survivors give up or they try to escape. The 3 survivors are put at a massive disadvantage.

Survivors can leave the match early and avoid the dc penalty by killing themselves on the hook. Killers can't leave early.
It would only be fair if a) killers could leave early, too or b) survivors would not be able to leave early anymore.
If people want to treat both sides differently, it just shows their double standards, but that's nothing new. 🤷

I would say there should actually be two of such options:
1.) A forfeit option, if you want to give up the match to the survivors. You would have to perform "bad" to be able to use this option. Meaning not having downed / hooked / killed anyone for an extended time, or it's just always an option as soon as all gens got done.
For example, the killer could just walk to his basement and toggle a switch, which immobalize the killer, shut off the basement from entering (survs can still get out), heal all survs to healthy, open both gates and start a 30 sec timer EGC timer. No player can get additional BP from this point on, except survival points for escape and sacrifice points for killer, in case a surv refuses to run out.
2.) Some means for handling mutliple survivors refusing to do their objective (-> hold the game hostage). Just had a round recently were two blendettes were doing nothing but urban evasioning around the level for 15+ minutes. When the survs do not touch a gen for at least 10 seconds (combined) in like five minutes, and the killer had no interaction with any surv in the same time frame, the entity would help the killer in finding the survivors.
It could be something like revealing their location (killer instinct), showing their aura, giving them crows which only disperse when being chased or doing a gen for like 30 seconds. The crows could also begin to swarm the whole level and give the killer some additional Spies effect, with the survs always alerting the crows even when crouching or with calm spirit. Or if thats still not enough, a timer is started similar to EGC, but gens still can be done and gates not powered automatically. The timer (one minute) will pause if survivors are doing a gen, and totally vanish if a gen is finished. If they don't get a gen done in this time frame, the entity will sacrifice them on the spot, like with EGC.

killer should be able to open exit gates at any time of the trial. This would be the most elegant fix
8 -
This would actually be the easiest route. I am for this.
4 -
This would actually be the most adequate equivalent to survivor diving into the killer to suicide, so my vote for you.
4 -
As much as I think it's bs that the killer is basically a babysitter stuck in the match with no way out (unlike survivors, who can suicide on the hook), the ability to open the exit gates whenever would get abused so [BAD WORD]ing fast it's not even funny.
One of the problems is that the game has no built-in timers. It's a race against time if both sides are doing their objectives, but if a killer walks off during a match to get a snack and comes back 20 minutes later, the survivors could still be there not having completed a single gen and just screwing around. The game is very open-ended, which is great for me as lately I just want to get a few jump scares and then go afk while the survivors do five gens and leave, but a bit more structure would help make sure matches don't go on indefinitely.

Yes... well actually... YES!!! :D
2 -
Why would you want to forfeit ? If you're getting trashed it'll be over soon enough
0 -
Well it should be obvious that a not so small part of all online communities get cocky/arrogant/mean as soon as they notice that they got into the power side of things. A good amount of survivor will stop progressing the game and start farming points or try to taunt the killer.
Yes I might be generalising a little bit here and I know that not even 50% are like this but those kind of games burn themselves into your memory like PTSD. And it happens on both sides only with the difference that the chance for survivor to meet the same kind of jerk killer is 4 times higher than for killer to meet either a death squad or unfun meme groups (assuming a equal percentage of both player groups are jerks).
1 -
Well first hook suicide is already rampant and ruins many games but nothing can be done against that.
1 -
I can only say that most complains i read about the dc penalty was from survivors that can´t just dc if the killer does something they dislike, or if its the wrong map/killer, or to give hatch. I saw really few killers complaining about it.

Play the game to the end or stop playing altogether.
0 -
If killers can camp and troll and tunnel and survivors can't disconnect with out penalty neither should a killer.
0 -
Opening the exit doors lmao. This idea is actually really good if you just give up at a match, and also if you want to leave your little rabbits free HAHAHAH.

Survivors can kill themselves on hook no add-ons or items needed. How is a forfeit option ez mode?
1 -
Honestly if you want a quick match bring a mori. You don’t even have to actually use the mori you bring, survivors who see you brought one at the start of the game won’t be wasting a ton of time during the match because they’ll know if you down them after a hook it’s over, even if they have Decisive Strike. In fact you don’t even need to bring an Ebony Mori, an secret offering will make the survivors think you are using one and they’ll be on red alert the whole match.
(Plus bonus points for actually killing survivors with moris and then drinking the ocean of tears. 😭 Yeah, we get it, Red Moris are overpowered, boo hoo. If the devs didn’t want people using moris they wouldn’t still be in the game at this point.)
0 -
Course. Because hook suicide isnt ragequitting at all
0 -
don’t queue up for a match if you don’t wanna play the game lmfao
0 -
Say the people suiciding on first hook.
1 -
Must be quite rare for that to happen, I would focus more on improving so they can't be as cocky then looking for a way out .
0 -
just use Alt+F4
/s

Here’s the thing you can be in favor of killers being able to open the door early but if so you also have to be okay with survivors first hook suiciding.
Or you can say killers being able to end the game early is unfair because it robs the survivors of points, but if so you should be against first hook deaths.
I don’t really care which way you choose but if you’re saying it’s okay for one side to quit early then it should be okay for the other.
2 -
If survivors are messing around then kill them...
0 -
How about this:
Give killers a 'Calling Stone' or something that can be used once per game. If they want to leave the game, they can go to certain spots on the map and call upon the entity to send someone else. if they do so, ALL gens and totems are blocked for the time being, they leave the game and another killer in queue gets the notification that they can join into an ongoing match, replacing the forfeiting killer.
0 -
Let the killer interact with the exit gate at any time to concede.
Doing this before the exit gates are powered causes all generators to progress over time, and removes regression penalties from failing skill checks while repairing gens (to prevent hostage/farming). Gen progression is slowed while any survivors are dying or hooked. The exit gates are automatically opened when last remaining gen is repaired.
----
Does this make it hard for Survivors to pip (imossible to double pip) if the killer concedes?
Yes, just like survivors dying early on hook on purpose makes it hard for the killer to pip (impossible to double pip).
0 -
Even more reason i should be able to open the doors and trigger egc, whenever i want.
0 -
You can only "improve" so much. Even the best killer players have their skill capped and it comes down to waiting for the survivor to make a mistake.
1 -
Best way to go about it IMO is to give the Killer the option to forfeit after a certain point in the game. Something similar to Identity V. They gotta be willing to play a big chunk of the match.
I do not like this idea. This just means the Killer can force everyone to depip or waste temporary stuff they brought into the trial. Not to mention that there is one Killer who will absolutely abuse that to keep Survivors stuck in a trial during EGC.
0 -
Survivors can already force killer to depip and waste valuable addons / offerings by suiciding on hook. This is perfectly allowed and quite common. I don't get your reasoning.
1 -
I don't like hook suicides for exactly the reason you stated (I also report them for losing the game on purpose), but there is a difference between that and just making sure the game immediately ends for everyone as soon as it starts.
0 -
I assume you would be fine with removing the ability to kill oneselve on the hook for survivors?
1 -
There is no difference. Suiciding on hook ruins the game for the rest of the survivors and the killer. It also frequently makes other survivors do the same thing.
2 -
Hence why I report Survivors who do this for losing the game on purpose.
