Can claiming bloodpoint rewards from Archives bypass the one million cap?

I usually spend my bloodpoints as I play. It's only recently that I have started saving my bloodpoints for a new character.
I have not finished all the challenges at the archives but I have reached one million bloodpoints. If I finish a challenge and claim the reward will it add to the million or will it disappear?

The challenges will not surpass the bp limit. I recommend spending a bit of bp before you claim it or save it for later.
