Boil Over Rework
Boil Over
* Your struggling effects on the Killer are increased by 25/50/75 %.
* Time to wiggle free from Killer's grasp is decreased by 4/8/12 %.
* No longer blocks Killers Hook Auras.
This is Iron Graps but for Surviviors. I think that would make that perk way better and could you help escape from killer graps more than the original version of this perk. I played Boil Over a lot of games and I don't remember single one that I escaped because of that perk and I played a lot.

That's DS area of balancing.
Never it should be repeated. All that need to be changed is reduced counter effect of ADAD spamming, that negates wiggling random movement. Introducing another 2nd chance effects for survivors is, for sure, not needed.

DS area of balancing? that would have to be numbers like 25+ %. It takes -2s of killers grasp, so making it 14s instead of 16s. Most of hooks are close to each other and you escape with this perk like 1 / 10 games. This perk would still be not rly good, but it would not be useless as is now. I think -2s is no way near level of insta-escape or escape after few seconds in killer's grasp.

@Skarkio Interesting to read. It don't HAVE to be faster grasp escape, but I still think that perk, even working with team, it's not worth it using. It's very weak, at least increase blocking aura range. Solo is unfun and useless perk, but with team... there are way better perks to play if they want to tryhard.

if you been stuck due to wiggling, reduce the amount of hits. if hook is further - reduce yet again.with the perk you increase chance of killer getting stuck. you also increase chance to not be instahooked, simply because killer does not see hook right behind wall (the game). You also increase chance killer misses the hit. 2-3 failures are enough to get out of grasp.
to sum up, it increases "chances" to make killer fail. It's similar to all killer perks there are. and you think it's underpowered. What do you think killer mains think of each and every perk they got so far?1 -
Boil Over, despite being an Very Rare perk, it's basicaly useless, also what's up with the hooks being so close to one another ?

I spent the entire weekend running this perk alongside Dance With Me, Windows of Opportunity and Lithe. Here's my observations:
- My initial idea for the BBQ counter would definitely be overpowered, so I agree with @Skarkio that would definitely be a bit too much.
- There was only one situation where Boil Over was actually useful - the killer swayed into a wall briefly and had a double body block by teammates. Without the killer mistake caused by the sway, I wouldn't have gotten the drop. But that is one game out of around 50 that I played this weekend.
- I still think the numbers could use a mild buff - I would increase the sway to 75%/100%/125% so that Iron Grasp no longer completely counters it (though it will still help tremendously), and increase the hook aura suppression to about 16/18/20 meters.
- In disagreement with @Skarkio, I don't think this is a perk that should be dependent entirely on teammates to be useful. While I don't think it should be single-handedly getting you drops on a regular basis, I do think it should frequently extend the time spent carrying you to a hook by a noticeable amount, and get a drop every so often, neither of which is achieved by the current version of the perk.
- Regarding the above, I DON'T want Boil Over to be another DS, or anywhere near that level of effectiveness (I'm firmly in the camp that both DS and SC are horribly overpowered and need to be nuked from orbit). But I also don't want it sitting in the pile of useless perks, of which we have far too many already, since I really like the idea behind Boil Over.

the time decrease would be completely broken.
we dont need every perk to be a meta perk, do we? CANT THERE JUST BE SOME FUN PERKS OUT THERE?!?0 -
In addition to everything that's been said here, there should never just be a perk that completely nullifies a killer or survivor perk. Even if it's a crappy, over nerfed perk like Iron Grasp that sees next to no use by anyone with access to teachable perks. That's just dumb. It requires zero thought process.
There are perks that "counter" other perks, but they are not 1:1 hard counter "your perk is useless against me just because I equipped this perk". Example, you still have to hit a survivor and protect the totem for The Third Seal to cancel out Empathy/Bond.

CANT THERE JUST BE SOME FUN PERKS OUT THERE?!?I don't want another OP "free escape" perk and there are out perks that you would use for fun and this perk would be also about fun. You would not escape much with this perk anyway. You would need +2 body blocks (that will makes other survivors waste more time on heal and also you can catch someone that body blocked) and that hook needs to be AT LEAST in medium range. -2s it's not rly OP, even with team work. Bodyblocks? Fine, they wasted all their time and health on that and now you can punished them after that and they don't have time to block you every single time.
I like fun perks, no-meta. I am playing no-meta perks offten, but how fun is playing perk, that will do 99% of time nothing? So much fun, right? This perk is like old Deja Vu.

Imo the concept is good, it just needs a buff to the numbers to make it more impactful

dude... do you even know how crucial 2 seconds can be? especially in this game? a game that is all about time, which heavily puishes you for wasting it? and what ybout maps that dont have many hooks in one area? will the killer just not be able to hook a survivor, if he goes down at a specific point in the map, since he would need more time to get to the hook? or if he picks you up at a wall, and the 2nd effect of boil over wont show him, that there is a hook right next to him (on the other side of the wall), so he tries to get to a different hook and your out again? or if they combine it with DS (the 35% mark for every not obsession would be reached much faster)? or the fact, that they now need less bodyblocks to get you out?
the wiggle speed increase would be etremely broken. i doubt you can tell me anything that changes my mind, so lets not further discuss this here. i have my point of view and you got yours. a discussion would be pretty pointless, dont you think?3 -
Would cause a lot of trouble, mostly caused by people running repeatedly into corners of the maps where they cannot be hooked, which is a cheese and unwanted.

It may be difficult to do but boil over isnt useless.... alls you have to do is plan where you go down... in the gas station when the garage door isn't open, downstairs on the game, in a room on lerys... try to think rather the just wanting brain dead mechanics/perks that just work for you surviving takes thought and for the most part survivors have had way too easy..1
