Isn't this normally supposed to equate to 2 rank points?

Yes.
At red ranks, Survivors are the ones that need 3 iridescent and 1 gold. Killers need all 4 iridescent.

No, you were missing just a tiny it. You can see those 3 markers at the red bar? First is safety pip, second is +1, third is +2.
the requirements to pip go up the higher your rank!

What does pip mean, I've seen it very often but haven't found what it stands for.

So at rank 4, as killer I need 4 iridescents for 2 points?

not necessarily, but probably a ‚better‘ gold one. If you go with your mouse over the emblem you can see what contributed to this emblem. If you would have some minor things more it doesn’t automatically register from gold to iri, but the bar under the emblems would go further

a match ranking of +1 means one pip, +2 are two pips. 0 is referred to a safety pip. You need pips to rank up, how many you need you can see when hovering your mouse cursor over your rank in the top right corner.
