Spinechill: If I Could Remove One Perk From The Game

Would be fair, but would cause such a forums hissy fit that I doubt it would ever happen.

it literally only affects one killer heavily which is ghostface and i dont know if u playin on console or smth cus i dont see it that much

SPine chill never really bothered me until the Micheal Tier 1 change. It's absurd. A 110% 1 meter lunge that cant gain bloodlust. The other stealth killers have the excuse of always being able to change to 115% at any time but if Micheal gets a SWF on comms or just gets unlucky and gets spotted from far away he can lose the game because he didn't get EW2 early enough. Spine chill decimates him to the point hes basically unplayable.

we get it man you been playing for a month and you are just wanting easy walk in the park matches....

And I get that you just want to preserve a perk you know is a touch broken. Am I doing it right?
Seriously though, the issue isn't the perk. The issue is how hard it negates stealth killers, especially 'looky' killers like Myers and Ghostface.
Just make it work only on killers who are detectable and hey-presto! It's balanced.

you can crab/moon walk to counter SC. and yes there is still a way to see what killer you are. they read the server logs or something similar. and since you are locked to play that killer, you can't counter it. i used to select Doc and then swich to the killer i wanted 10s before the match.

lmfao spine chill isnt even that great of a perk
1 -
that would give it no use it does one thing and thats counter stealth remove that you have 6% vault speed

It’s quite funny honestly. Spine chill has screwed me more times than helped me.
what’s that? The killer is coming. Okay better leave! Oh. I left in the direction they’re from? Mannnn.

Meh, can't say the perk has ever really given me that much trouble.
In fact I find it even helps at times. It seems a lot of survivors that have it, don't expect you to play around it. This has led me to get hits/grabs that I feel like I never should have gotten if the survivor was actually paying more attention. Its like they become too reliant on it, and don't bother checking their surroundings as much.
When I use the perk, i'm no exception though, because I also tend not to look around as much. Usually I don't need to, because as I said most killers don't play around it. I even remember having a game like last month where I was grabbed off a gen while running the perk. The killer hadn't played around it for part of the match, but then suddenly he did and I didn't expect it, so he got a free hook.

Totally not a common perk. Here my last two games :

I hope they don't remover or nerf Spine Chill. I use it on all my survivors.

And yet you don't have a problem with it even with a stealth killer

While that may hold true, I still have problems with it. The counterplay is annoying af and hinders the Killer.
If they wouldn´t have had SC I´d have gotten way better stalkings in. Just by having this perk equipped the only saving grace of Myers horrendous early game, being "Undetectable", is severly diminished.
Given how valuable SC is I don´t think it´s justified that it isn´t limited by either a CD or a token system.

As a solo survivor I ALWAYS (well almost always) run spine chill (and surprisingly end up paired up with a lot of people who do the same). Stealth killers or not, it's just great in general. If I end up dying its usually because the killer lucked out and saw me anyway, had an aura detection perk, or I get sucked away from the stealth into something risky like a hook rescue. It's sort of a crutch for me at this point. I need to leave it behind more to get stronger at looping... but I love it :-<
As a killer, I've found it pretty brutal for dragging games out into hide and seek rather than tag. It just lets everyone hide easily in ways where they can keep swerving behind any given rock and you're spining around to "AHA!" at nothing. That said, (A) I do suck at finding survivors, and (B) tend to lean towards low-mobility killers anyhow.
Knowing when its a factor isn't really an issue. I usually assume that someone's packing it. When you're locked into a 3 gen and it really matters as you kick and return to it a kickable gen, it doesn't take much to figure out. I've found it rough to counter though because of that innate 1st person POV disadvantage. Looking away can be a hell of a gimp when survivors spot you from 3rd person as you're bumping into trees.
So, yeah, I've actually wondered about it being to OP myself lately. It negates that lack of of a heatbeat/alternate presence warnings meant to make up for some killer attributes anyhow. Though I think a direct nerf might be trouble since that ability of SOME to anticipate the stealth killers seems like an assumed balancing elementl, so wipining it might make stealth killers insanely powerful. Maybe some creative answer exists, like false positives? I dunno.
I'm thinking it probably shouldn't be able to see through undetectable at least.

People have apparently found a workaround again, there's been several reports of Killers running up against survivors who perfectly counter it
0 -
Might explain why I´m facing so many SC as Myers and Ghostface. Darn...
0 -
No it's just becoming a more popular and useful perk with all the undetectable perks out there , also it counters the ruin undying tinkerer combo because you know they're coming

My comment was not at all about Spine CHilled, I was letting Elena know that people have found a work around that allows them to know what the killer is while in the lobby
0 -
They haven't though people are just speculating that because spine chill is being used when they play a stealth killer
0 -
You're not listening at all. The evidence for that has NOTHING to do with spine chilled. But keep trying to make it about that. I'm talking about Survivors finishing matches with perk and item loadouts perfectly designed to counter what the killer is using, not like "OH EMMM GEEE THEY USED SPINE CHILLED AND I AM STEALTH ERMAGERD THEY MUST BE HACKKERZ!".
But I doubt you'll even read this you're most likely going to ignore any evidence because "Its impossible for people to hack video games!"

Not meant to offend you but in order for him to ignore evidence you would have to provide it in the first place. I´m curious as of what you can offer in that regard.
0 -
I was positive it wasn't fully patched out, however I couldn't find any proof, so I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing the issue.
0 -
I never claimed that he ignored evidence. But he claimed that it was all just speculation with no proof. While it is speculation, there have been several threads lately about killers coming into eerily perfect matches for the survivors, along with a couple of people outright saying that a new workaround was found for the anti cheat system but refusing to go into details.
If you have some sort of issue with that then I'm not going to argue or debate on this. But dismissing the entire potential for people to cheat, when not even the greatest anti cheats can actually stop 100% of cheaters is asinine.

I do not have an issue with acknowledging such things- I´d just much rather prefer having something more than hearsay.
Do you have anything supporting that claim? I´m genuinely curious and not trying to downplay your theory.

Dont look at the gen when approaching, they'll never see you coming, because they're watching the perk, not the surroundings.
Spinechill is meta right now, so I dont suspect them knowing what killer you're using, but yes, they can see.

Jesus christ take a Ritalin this thread is about spine chill and I get what you're saying but just because the killer feels like they've been countered perfectly doesn't mean someone is hacking at all , I know it's possible to hack also I'm not dumb

Given the skill of your average survivor that uses Spine Chill, the perk helps killers.
