A Proper NoED Nerf

I have a suggestion that will possibly allow NoED to remain strong but give Survivors a chance to address it throughout the match.

- NoED starts with six stacks and is inactive.

- For every Dull or Hex totem cleansed in the match, lose a stack.

- Every stack lost gives NoED a 10 second cooldown between instadowns, for a total of 50 seconds.

- Stacks can be lost even while NoED is activated.

This way, the perk retains its use as a strong late game perk, but when survivors do bones they actually weaken the power bit by bit, allowing some counterplay rather than waiting for it to spawn and then scowering to find it.

It’s called do the totems. Bring stuff like Maps with totem tracking, Detective’s Hunch, Small Game, etc. It isn’t that hard to find totems anyway tbh

Why do you keep writing NoED? It's like you're saying that you don't have one detrimental medical condition instead of saying the acronym for No One Escapes Death.

    And no, I don't agree.

I also don't agree with the two posters above me.

NOED doesn't need a Nerf. It was fine before and was deeply affected by Undying (everyone does Bones). :)

NOED has no need to be nerfed because all you need to do is cleanse the totems and congratulations no NOED.

NOED is 1 of like... 3 perks in the Killer's base set that's actually good. If you want to nerf NOED, you need to buff or rework some of the current general killer set that is garbage so new killers have something to work with.

NOED is essentially just an endgame version of Haunted Grounds or Devour Hope. It gets you one or maybe two downs if it triggers at all in the last minute or two of play. Haunted Grounds pretty consistently gets you at least one or sometimes two downs when it triggers and it gets you the down early in the match to help build momentum which makes the down more valuable. Devour Hope is riskier because it could be destroyed before it builds up but once it does charge up it can completely snowball a match quickly.

In fact Haunted Grounds is probably the best of the three in the current environment of survivors going out of their way to cleanse all the totems. I frequently run it now and get downs from it nearly every time simply because nobody ignores hexes at this point. And yet I never get complaints from survivors about Haunted Grounds, but on the rare occasion I’ve used NOED it’s a salt mine. I think it’s just because the survivors you down with NOED think they “deserved to escape” since the gens were done so get really frustrated when they don’t. Again, though, getting the downs earlier is actually more likely to lead to a 3-4 kill result than getting them when the gens are already done.

So no, NOED doesn’t need a nerf, it’s fine.
