Save the best for last bug (?)

I was playing Clown on the Dead Dawg Saloon(don't think it matters but who knows) and the obsession DCed. Despite that I could still gain tokens for Save the best for last. It would be cool if it was intended that you don't loose an entire perk because someone decided to DC but I'm pretty sure it was not intended to be like that.
The Nea who DCed was still making grunts of pain on the ground, she also DCed during the pick-up animation.
So far it happened to me only once.
