Hello, I want to tell you about a new item. Some people like it very much, some people don't. Now I can say that the purpose of this new item is an item that allows you to open chests faster.
Along with this item, I will introduce new add-ons.
Obsolete Locksmith (Brown): This allows you to open chests 50% faster.

Underused Locksmith (Yellow): This allows you to open chests 75% faster.
- 2 Charge
Master's Handmade Locksmith (Purple): This allows you to open chests 100% faster.
- 3 Charge
Add-Ons:
- noname: It increases the locksmith endurance a little. After opening about 1 crate, it recognizes another 5 seconds of use.
- noname: Increases the durability of locksmith moderately. After opening about 1 box, it recognizes another 15 seconds of use.
- noname: It increases the durability of locksmiths incredibly. After opening about 1 box, it recognizes another 30 seconds of use.
- noname: Adds 1 charge to the locksmith. I'd say a spare locksmith piece.
- noname: Adds 2 charge to the locksmith. I'd say a spare locksmith piece.
- noname: Adds 3 charge to the locksmith. I'd say a spare locksmith piece.
- noname: When using a locksmith, you reduce the chest volume by 4 meters.
- noname: When using a locksmith, you reduce the chest volume by 8 meters.
- noname: If you press the space key when using the locksmith, you can open that chest instantly. Add-on consume instantly, not affected by charging.

While the idea is cool, it seems kinda weird to have an item that is only used to open a chest, which just...holds another item. I don't really have an issue on balance since you can only get so much from opening a chest faster aside from keys (but keys are a whole other issue).

In general, those who have trouble with chest tasks or items are those who farm. To be honest, I noticed that they lost a lot of time opening ballot boxes. At least this item does not harm the balance in any way.

This sounds like a nice idea, but I don't see the reason why to have it, u use the item to get another item.
Maybe if the item was a one time use Lock pick that would open the chest instantly and had addons that affect the rarities and addons you get from those chests, that could be fun and make more sense tbh.

Maybe instead of a pocket knife make it a bag or thieves kit. They can take an item but only 1 item and not use it?

Could just run pharmacy. 80% faster and noise is reduced by 8 m and also guarantees a good item first chest.
Other then that the only way I see the item being useful is if it is ran with the insta open add on.

But remember that you are filling your 1.slot perk slot for this.

But you could also be filling your item slot for a brown toolbox. Also survivor perks dont mean anything to me. I will legit run a chest build with pharmacy, plunderers, and ace in the hole

who would run this instead of a normal item though? its just taking space in the bloodweb and therefore directly making grinding items and addons in the bloodweb more difficult. I tell you from experience that once you have all of the perks getting good items is a grind because the bloodweb is full of trash, and inconveniently so are boxes without perks like plunderers instinct. maybe if it was a single green item with no addons that GURANTEED the first box you open didn't have trash in it, maybe even forcing the item you find to have a random addon. this is the only balanced way i think i would consider taking something like this, as its basically a voucher for a better item, although thats kind of redundant since you could have simply rolled a better item in the bloodweb in the first place.
