Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Trapper needs easy buffs

I literally joined just to see if the community was conveying the message that the Trapper definitely needs some love. I find him so fun to play but very frustrating. I don't think all of these suggested buffs are needed but some are so easy to add that I am ...unhappy that the devs haven't implemented them, as I know Otz and others have talked about them.

  1. Make the Trapper able to carry 2 traps baseline. It's such a simple change that would make a big difference. I like the ideas that either traps can be gotten from lockers / or spawn near generators. Having to juggle traps is the key problem, though. It also would open up many new add-on combinations that could be fun and powerful.
  2. The RNG on escaping his traps is ridiculous. 3-8 attempts should be standardized, and also it should take at least twice as long for other survivors to untrap whoever is stuck. Adding skill checks could be a way to reduce the randomness. The main point here is that it needs to take longer than 6-8 seconds to escape a trap, every time. The Trapper needs to know when ending a chase to go to a trapped survivor will be worth it.
  3. If an injured survivor steps in a trap, having them go into a deep wound state would be very nice, instead of them escaping with no penalty.
  4. Finally, I think it'd be nice to increase the Trapper's movement speed if he is not carrying any traps. Walking to a trap to pick it up should feel like less of a chore.

I think Trapper is super fun but is easily the worst Killer in the game, and he deserves some love.
