It's the same as before: if two survivors touched a gen and immediately left, the gen would still be lit up for 8 seconds, but then it wouldn't refresh

For that interaction it basically changes from "at least 1 survivor left this gen sometime in the last 8 seconds" to "at least 1 survivor left this gen exactly 8 seconds ago". I think it may be a better change because now it's more consistent for figuring out when the survivors left so you can judge how much distance they could have gotten.

Why does it need a range at all? There's only 7 gens that exist.. why do they need to limit the perk? Who complained about it triggering on every gen? nobody

I agree with people saying it will probably almost never make a difference, but I have to say the range limit still seems just kinda unnecessary.

they need to implement an unnecessary nerf to make people spend an extra 9k bloodpoints? seriously?
and it is a nerf regardless what some want to believe, there's absolutely no reason it should have a range limit

i love when they nerf killer items whilst leaving them out of the PTB.. almost like it was intentional.. I wonder why they didn't want feedback on this? hmm let's think why

96m is not map wide, I've used Empathy tier 3 and had instances where an injured person didn't show up
the fact they added a range at all should tell you it doesn't apply at all times, otherwise they wouldn't have included it

The way the aura works now is a buff. The old version simply had the aura last for X seconds and then the aura went away. So if you were in a chase, for example, you might not see the aura if you don’t check it within about 8 seconds
Now the aura persists the entire time that two survivors are working on it and continues after one or both of them leave it for 8 seconds. It pretty much makes it impossible to not know two people are on a gen, provided they are within that 98 meter range at tier 3. (98 meters actually is a long distance but doesn’t quite cover the whole map, distance wall to wall is about 100 meters on outdoor maps and distance from one corner to an opposite corner is about 140 meters. But if you are anywhere not near an edge or corner it effectively covers the whole map.)

to answer some one sided people,
even if this is a consistancy change, it's still a spit in the face for all killer and wasn't even tested before going live.
the last fact is just the worst they knew it would have backclash so they did it sneaky, very disgraceful and borderline ######### behavior

Okay smarthead, but now you are limited in it's use, so now if you are in chase you can miss the aura if you are too far away, aslo 92 meter is not even half the size of big map, it has now become a niche perk only use on small/medium map (and not all medium map) and loose all the early game use it had

No? the aura remained for 8 seconds after the most recent noise notification, which led to more accurate information than this change. Had you ever used the perk before cause it was pretty obvious the aura remained for longer than 8 seconds lol.

If they wanted to differentiate the tiers, they should have augmented the time it takes for the aura to go away.

I mentioned the range limit being a factor in my post. And 92 meters will cover you unless you happen to be right on the edge or a corner and the gen they’re on happens to be in the opposite corner. (Outdoor maps are 100 meters across, 140 corner to corner)

Well if anything it confirms that BHVR are gonna stick with this horrendous perk-tier system while the game continues to get bigger and get even more perks and characters added to the game...very good decision... the aura reading is now consistent, but they had to introduce another arbitrary mechanic to the perk so it can be justified to have 3 different tiers. So discordance is now useless at any other tier than 3 like many other perks. All they had to do was swap the tier 1 and tier 3 strengths around and that was literally it but they made it more complicated for like no reason lmao

It reminds me of the Ruin change where they didn't want feedback on it (their feedback survey didn't have a Ruin section). They seemed hellbent on keeping that change. Is this BHVR's way of forcing certain changes on us?

The actual nerf is not getting a second noise notification if survivors stay on the gen. That's quite a big loss of information with this perk.

that with the aura nerf (yes it's a nerf a small one but still one) just destoy the perk, thanks i guess now i can gen rush with my friend and probe thyself

Guys, they changed the perk because people KEPT ASKING them to change it.
I don’t think they did it in the best way (tier 1 is basically garbage tier now), but saying “why change this when they haven’t changed X?” is pretty unfair when they changed Discordance because people repeatedly asked them to change it.

The only change I had seen asked for was to basically switch tiers 1 and 3, just to remain consistent, I didnt see anyone asking for a limitation on its distance or giving it less accurate information, the reason why tier 1 was better than 3.

I wouldn't say discordance has been destroyed tho. Killers are just gonna have to pay a bit more attention.
As others have said, killers don't hug the walls off the map.. they'll most likely still see it proc.

That’s why I specifically said that criticising them for changing it is unfair, and not criticising the change itself. I literally said that I didn’t think they’d done a good job with the change. The content of the change is the problem, not the idea of a change in itself.

Then for the most part we agree however even then I feel like it should have been lower priority than many others that as of yet have not been touched, but yes there were quite a few people asking for it to be changed so 3 is better than 1.

its close enough to map wide that unless you are standing in the corner, opposite of a gen which usually spawns a decent distance from corners it will still proc,

It has been nerfed, it was unlimited range before and now it has a limited range to proc, what do you call that? A nerf plain and simple. It's the same as if I said the rook in chess can no longer travel across the board but now can only travel 3 spaces horizontal or vertical, pretty straightforward nerf.

Been thinking about this more.. I don't really feel like spending hundreds of thousands of bloodpoints on multiple killers to still end up with an inferior version of the perk I just had yesterday.
Hadn't played in about a week and a half.. think I'll keep it that way for a while. 3 killer perk nerfs in 1 patch, one of which was added after PTB, + Pyramid Head changed barely a couple months after I bought him.. yeah I'm good.

Probably because they actually plan ahead and know that all those big maps are getting reworked. So why make a perk based on a map that you know is getting changed?

wait? they can only work on the game if YOU think it should be changed or added? #########? is this your game? the arrogance of everyone in this patch is worse than the arrogance of everyone at the chapter which was worse than the arrogance at the last mid chapter.... there is a trend. people thinking they have rights to dictate HOW BEHAVIOR does things.. if you don't like it find something else but really honestly the message board today has been a bunch of whiny children here because they didn't change X from the PTB, Y wasn't in the PTB, and the new map design is crap..... well stop playing messageboard 101 and go play the game. if you don't like it play something else. be constructive but saying "A bigger issue though is the fact they're again touching things nobody asked them to." Good Riddance, it was way too annoying with high mobility killers immediately making a beeline for the gen being worked on by 2 survivors across the map.
Honestly there’s still no counter to it unless you split up, which ironically is bad for the killer.

Totally agree.
Hardly anybody uses Tier 1 anything, anyway... especially Tier 1 Empathy, Tier 1 Bond and Tier 1 Disco.
Discordance is fine.
Just something else getting blown out of proportion by the masses.

Maybe I just never used Discordance enough, but I don't understand how this is a nerf and not a buff. Especially since before T1 was better than T3 but now T3 is better than T1. Can someone explain this to me?

Honestly I kind of regret even saying I wish the devs took a more aggressive approach to balancing perks, because it's pretty clear to me why they don't. They make bad perks worse, they make bad perks barely better, and they leave OP perks alone because they're too afraid to touch them. Why can't you make such bad decisions on the meta perks that make this game suck? Who even complained about DISCORDANCE?

yea it's not destoyed completly, but now you can commit to a chase while 3 survivor are on a gen and disc don't proc.
anyway the best way to do gen is 4 people doing 1 gen so it's more of a late game thing but still the nerf was unwarranted, and sneaky about it, they should have test it first or at least say it's coming before the patch so it don't come as an unfair change and.
like you can join me on the fact that it was done in a bad way.

you know what? they did test it. INTERENALLY They looked at the numbers and felt those numbers were good. why push the change off for 1.5 months? why make a special PTB load? Why even bother with it when their internal testing (which btw is their main testing). PTB is not their main testing. I can only count on ONE hand when something that was on the PTB got changed because of PTB feedback. they've made their postition abundantly clear by their past actions and nothing any amount of crying on the forums is going to change that they do not take the rantings here on the boards seriously. HOWEVER they do take constructive feedback from the boards and will CONSIDER what is said here.
Lets take Whispers: the perk starts at a huge radius and then gets reduced in size as the perk is leveled up to rank 3. this is exactly the same argument as your argument on discord. people have said 1) whispers is to large of a radius to be valuable in tier 1 and 2. 2) people have many times asked that people on hooks not count for whispers to go off. Guess what? this hasn't changed in over 2 years even with people trying. Why? because THEY feel it is where it should be and deserves to stay where it is. you don't need a PTB to decide these types of things! you just need to look at it in game, change it and see what you want on their internal testing server that they have up ALL THE TIME. Just because the "PUBLIC TEST BUILD" was not used does not invalidate the PUBLIC TEST BUILD it just means people are expecting one thing and they are not giving that one thing which is their right.
