Thanks for the Sale, but it Doesn't Save the Event
I was really excited to see that a bunch of skins got put on sale today when I logged in, but after actually reading through the sale post it's just feels like poor damage control.
Skins we used to be able to earn for free are now auric cells only, but instead of having to pay 10$ you can pay 6$ or 3$. This still feels really bad to me at least, idk how anyone else feels. It's nice that they're listening to feedback but it's still a shame we can now only pay for skins we missed out on.
It's also great that other auric cell skins are being discounted!! HOWEVER you have to buy the whole skin to receive the discount; so if you just want the shirt, pant, head or weapon you still have to pay full price. Mixing and matching is one of the best parts of skins in this game, forcing us to buy the whole skin for the discount if we just want one piece is unfortunate...

you mean the non-event.

I miss actual event mechanics. The pustula flower things were my favorite. The lanterns were interesting but every time an us vs them mechanic is added to the game it just makes the animosity between killers and survivors worse. I wouldn't mind seeing a mechanic where survivors and killers can help each other out but aren't required to (like one side can do something that actually benefits both them and the other side) and they can't completely screw each other over. (Like, for example, a killer could slash a pustula plant, get extra serum/points from it, and then the survivors also got extra serum/points from it. It's not required, but each side benefits.)
Anyway, yeah. A good event is one that introduces a new mechanic of some sort and also rewards players for playing during that time period. Anything less isn't really an event. Pumpkins on generators isn't an event, and giving away free stuff isn't an event.

I started playing dbd during the first Hallowed Blight event, so collecting the pus flowers was a huge part of my beginner's experience. It's super nostalgic for me and It makes me so sad seeing them make the Halloween even suck more and more each year :(

Same for me. The Hallowed Blight 2018 event is what brought me in to start playing DbD. No event they've had since has come close to it, and I regret sticking around because most of the year it just feels like I'm waiting for Halloween, but now twice Halloween has come and there's been nothing. If I'd known they were only going to do the event once, I would never have paid in. I stopped paying in around the time the Rift came out. A good Halloween event might get me excited for the game again, but this Halloween definitely convinces me to continue putting my money towards other games and not this one.
