Bloodpoint event has brought out the worst in Killers

Ten matches (10!!!) in a row with the sweatiest Killers that I have ever had the misfortune of playing against. Every single one that me and my group of friends played with tonight has either tunneled or camped. What's worse is that clearly they're doing this for the double bloodpoints, but because of these ridiculous tactics, most have walked away with less than 20,000 (before double bp), which in turn makes the survivors earn even less.

I'm game if you want to farm, but if not then for the love of God don't be a dick and just play the game normally. You'll get a hell of a lot more bloodpoints that way!

I guess you could say we "lucked out" there since we only had one killer with a Mori, but holy hell we had to stop playing just so we could cool our jets! LOL

personally using the event I haven't brought a mori or done some hardcore tunneling that wasn't deserved (working on a gen with ds while injured fresh off hook instead of getting healed is probably the number 1 reason that I might consider tunneling you)

Hmm,haven't run into any unusual behaviour tbh.

I did the same in my killer matches. Yeah if you go straight to a gen or into a locker right after being unhooked, then yeah you've already let me know exactly what's going on and I'm going to work on getting that decisive strike out of the way. But otherwise I'm going to play the game normally.

If you indicate that you want to farm then I'm all for it right now, but I'm surely not going to look to end the match as soon as possible.

I doubt it’s because of double bp as they’d earn more just playing like they did before the event.

They're doing it for the "easy wins". They don't understand that the less you do the less blood points you get. Time and again I would die within minutes, even with having decisive strike because I would either be incessantly tunneled, or not allowed off the hook.

Nothing like walking away with a cool 10,000 blood points because the killer literally would not let me do anything.

Your suffering is because killers have gotten too powerful in this video game. They also take the game way too seriously. I quit very early tonight myself, have no further desire for the rest of the night to play the sweaty slug game and watching another bloodbath unfold. I don't know how survivors re-queue knowing the outcome will be the same.

Personally I think survivors can be just as powerful if they work well together in a swf. But I digress, if it wasn't for the fact that I was playing with friends, like you I would have stopped playing hours ago.

Our blood was boiling to the point to where all you could hear was heavy breathing. 😄 At that point we knew we had to shut it off and take a break. Maybe things will be better tomorrow. 🤞

Everything has been normal for me today, as a survivor I still get morons for teammates and as killer I still get those same morons but they're not my problem anymore.

Just to restore the faith, the rest of my matches after this first dumpster fire were much better. It has actually been a great night where most matches everyone got in the 20k's. So I have to give good DbD game play credit when it is due.

Today my day was hell too. So I reacted: burnt my Ormond offerings and brought my keys. I was able to get some blood points, but I played less than 2 hours today (and that considering I pushed on wanting to farm points because of the event).

Killers are just crazy and desperate. It seems I have to bring the meta perks and the worst offerings I have if I wanna play a game to the end now or find a full SWF to play with (what's not very likely tbh).

I agree. Killers have been super extra sweaty, campy, tunnel-y, and just generally mean tonight. Like they don't understand that short matches mean less BP. But I think it's because between SURV's using a bunch of BP streamers/cakes/petals, killers using their own BP offerings, BBQ&C, and the 2x event, they aren't bothered much by it. They're still making bank. Plus, the good players KNOW every 2x event is like this, so they're all playing Killer. And 2x attracts those infrequent players, so those of us interested in playing SURV tonight are getting sandbagged by potato players.

It's truly a super fecal-infused cocktail. Nights like this make me wonder why I even play DBD anymore.

Weird, I've been noticing less tunnelers and campers, even most of the killers in my region if they see a dc they instantly start farming instead since well double bp.

Don't know about camping or tunneling, but I had three games in a row (as solo) against killers who for some reason were nodding and hitting me on the hook (I was the last survivor). Like I don't play well, I'm alone, I wasn't looking for hatch, I don't bring flashlight or key, I don't loop for days, and I don't get this treatment. I know how awful it is when somebody annoys you, so I don't do it at all, even when people were toxic against me. I wonder what is going on inside their heads at moments like this😅🤨

I think these events just brings the worst in everyone. Survivor side sucks cause selfish teammates who even consider 300healing point as win and takes unnecessary protection hits to do selfcare in a corner, throwing game. Or Yolo you and farm on you. Or works with killer to farm on you more.

Killer side sucks pretty much for the same reasons. Cause I hate to see that farmed survivor getting nothing because of teammates. And it's not fun to win in a thrown game. Also you see these group of survivors just to play to annoy killer as much as possible.

And as a solo player I encounter newbies a lot. Especially, when events meet Free weekends. Like right now I get matched with rank 18-20 survivors who absolutely have no idea what's going on. They really make it hard to enjoy the game.

Yeah, my experiences were similar. Nothing like a killer with Ruin/Undying and an ebony mori to kick off a double BP event. :)

Very true! I'm hoping for better matches tomorrow as I would like to play up last night's matches as a fluke.

After everything I encountered last night, I loaded up a killer match and farmed with the survivors. I needed to cleanse the bad taste those matches left in my mouth! We all had fun, and it worked out well for all of us. I walked away with 83,000 blood points!

  • SweetTerror
    SweetTerror Member Posts: 2,695

That's true. Events like this do bring back the casual players that have no interest in playing fair. I'm a casual player myself, but I have no fun being a jerk to others.

Sometimes I wonder if DBD would benefit from having both a ranked and an unranked mode. If your rank matters to you that much, then I'll have fun reaping the same benefits in a mode the sweaty dedicated players have no interest in!

Normal matches for killers during a blood hunt event can bring in upwards to 80,000 blood points or more. I'd rather have one of those instead of three quick 5-minute matches that barely nets me 20,000(before double bp).

  • Clevite
    Clevite Member Posts: 4,335

Well I understand that. But you can turn a 20,000 point quick game into a 80,000 point quick game with, event, BBQ, and a Pudding.

I am with you myself, I prefer to just play and be a little chill during these events, but it depends on my competitors. If they are body blocking my hooks and flashlighting me at every pick up, well then they are not worried about playing chill and letting me get my points.

So I'll sweat and get into the next match quickly.

  • SweetTerror
    SweetTerror Member Posts: 2,695

That's fair. If you're going to be sweaty to me then I'll be sweaty right back! But no one wants a full night of that either. At least it's nice to know that both Killers and survivors have an easy way out that doesn't result in disconnecting.

I start each game saying to myself " You know, it's a double event it's Halloween, just enjoy, I don't even care if all escaped, or I escaped or not happy event for everyone." then somehow I always end up smashing my spacebar.

Remember this simple rule: If the Survivors win, it is because they are good and earned it by excellent friendly play. if the killer wins, it is because he is sweaty, tunneler, camper and bad player.

The challenge is. You want a "Fun" match. Every person has a slightly different version of fun. It is very very easy to judge another person in this game for doing something "wrong" even though they might be very laid back and not trying. Everyone seems to have a set of 10 things I expect my opponents to play like, and instantly decide their opponent is a try hard if they break one of their personal rules.

I'm just trying to farm BP as I'm relatively new. I struggle to find survivors and I use Bubba/Insidious to down 2 survivors since I get by BBQ bonus. After that I try to be more fair. I try not to slug and leave since I cannot find them afterwards (again I'm bad at finding survivors lol)

I did have a fun match yesterday (80k BP!) Where I got a survivor on a hook on a hill. Last gen was done and gates were open and I wanted at least 1k so I camped. Teammates came back to rescue but couldnt get near since I had chainsaw. Two of them rushed, unhooked and I jumped off and downed two of them by the gate. Got the 1k as the other downed guy crawled across lol

Weird i mostly farm by just hooking all survivors once then smacking the crap out of them over and over. Then we both benefit.

Also can't confirm any change so far. I also think it is funny how every change apparenty brings out the worst of x. Have seen Ruin rework bring out the gen rushers, how the event brings out the moris and keys, same now for double BP, same for every tome, for the hill bug, for the hook bug...

May it be that some of you guys just use a glimpse of information and conclude everything from it?

A killer main: I had around 10 matches today out of this matches 7(!) matches with anti hock offerings and Sabo builds. If someone is doing this you can be sure that a killer has no mood to play "fair". This event should be fun for both sides but the toxic players are ruin it. If I play against normal Survivors you get the hatch or if someone dcs we can farm. But if you try to be cocky and a bad ass you have to live with the consequences...

I always hear about toxic killers, but almost never face any. Played about 15 survivor games during this double BP event..not a single killer has tunneled or camped.

Now don't get angry but I think people can play 10 games and lose a few games, have one killer tunneling and then what will they remember from those 10 games? The losing, the tunneling killer and then come here and rant about 10 games of toxic killers.
