Ingame Character Dialogue

I had a thought today about how badass it would be to hear ingame character dialogue, like genuine voice acting. I feel like this would make the game's lore way more attractive from the outside. The lore in DbD is hella hard to get into unless you like, watch videos or search it out yourself. Plus hearing Ashley Williams talk to Bill would be dope in general.

I mean, what is there to talk about? the grunts and screams are pretty much enough for this game, and the Observer talking makes sense since he tells memories and logs for us to know more about the game's lore.

Also the only actual character Dialogue is from Ash in the lobby, and his is mostly 'ahh, what now?' or 'who's sh*tting in the tall grass?' which makes me think that having in-game dialogue might not be a good idea

Casual exchanges in dialogue, Show feelings of admiration for one another, comments on their predicament, any excuse to show personality. It would be so nice to hear Claudette address Dwight and urge him to stay safe, while complimenting Kate's more outgoing personality. They built a personality into each character, I just think it could show through a little more.

I mean, I think they don't do in-game dialogue because most of the voice actors are actually the developers of the game, Dwight is the same as one of the Sound Designers while Laurie is voiced by one of the producers. I think most of them have little experience in voice acting, so grunts, moans and screams are passable for their voices, just not in dialogue because it would result in horrible acting.

The only non-DBD developers voice actor at the top of my head is Ash, who is voiced by the actor who played him, Bruce Campbell.

in-trials do not work because their voices could be heard by the killer, which is a good reason why they're silent most of the time, and with proof of the voice lines of Ash, yeah, lobby dialogue would be more of a mess then actual dialogue.

I'm not sure about voice acting, but I wish we did get more (or any quite frankly) interactions between survivors in the written lore. The closest we had was the old descriptions of survivors when they released, as it at least gave us more of an insight. I would love some of the survivors to develop more canon friendships or rivalries, with lore to back it up.

Perhaps at some point they will add some sort of chat feature for solo players to communicate, which would be a good way to bring personalities into gameplay like you mentioned. Each character's greeting there, for example, could be personal to them, and that would open up specific interactions too if they bump into a certain style. Perhaps one of the survivors would recognise Jane and be starstruck, as one idea. It would definitely make survivors feel like a bit more than just a skin.

I would really like it if they added more emotes instead of Point/Come/Teabag! Give us voice lines and other gestures, give us something lol.
