Merchs are based on already existing movies, and pretty sure they are subject to international copyright laws. The lawsuit is about US ownership. But because of the legal battle, new content can't be made, since now the dispute moved to the writer more or less wanting credit for everything that was made based on the original creation and any upcoming new content, aka, new movie, video games and such.
So adding him to DBD, or updating the Friday the 13th game = new content.
It's a huge mess, and I'm sure i said something wrong in the little i wrote xD

The lawsuit isn't over. F13 the game is shutting due to not being able to keep the servers up. This changes nothing about DBD'S ability to get Jason.

Can people please stop using the Trapper Clone argument, I have looked for hours and unless I'm wrong he only killed ONE person with a bear trap in all of the movies, and it was the 2009 reboot. Let's give him multiple weapons like what that other person was saying, let's make him grow more angry as the trial goes on (frick it, he's the killer version of the perk "Fire Up"), maybe make him turn to mist, idk but what I do know is he can be WAY MORE than a Trapper clone, and I mean
WAY
more than just a Trapper clone.

I keep seeing this argument and it really doesn't make sense, if anything trapper is a different version of Jason. Jason came first. Also that remake is ugh I didn't like it one bit.

I don't think it works like that. The lawsuit is still going and I'm sure that whoever gets the rights won't be too keen on letting dbd borrow jason

They can get a jason but not the one that is in the lawsuit that dude is just one of the many Jason's not all of them f13 used this dude jason with out his consistent and he got mad because he didn't get much money from it that all it's not every person of jason just one so all they need to do is pick one and try to get it not that it's easy
