I want to explain myself in a little more detail.

Feel free to add ideas to this post. Or to discuss them.

I feel like this game at the moment can go 2 ways for either the killer or the surviviors.

Since the matchmaking is so random because yes the mmr system didn't work as intended yet when they first released it which is understandable and I understand the decision of removing it and reworking it.

However from a personal experience I feel like games can go 2 ways

Either you get matched with people who are pretty new and you have a very easy and fast game as a killer or survivor which results in 4k games or escapes that aren't rewarding at all. Because these games are so fast you won't earn the amount of points you need to rank up or you miss out on a lot of bloodpoints which isn't what most of us want.

Or you get matched with people who are way above your skill level resulting in a frustrating experience as both killers or survivors. As a killer this means you'll go up against people who have a lot more playtime and knowledge which results in a bad performance as a killer because you can't learn from that game. You'll get outplayed in this scenario's leaving you with a no kill game and a derank at the end of it which is very demotivating. For surviviors this means you'll go up against a very experienced killer when you don't have that experience meaning you'll die almost as soon as that killer finds you same result applies here. Deranking and losing motivation to play.

This has been my experience in the game for the last 2 months now since I took a long break and recently came back.

I feel like we need the mmr system back rather sooner than later to avoid matches like this for both sides.

Once people get matched with other players of similar skill and playtime you will see a few things happen.

1 people will generally play more often because they now have a better chance at winning as a killer or escaping as a survivior.

2 more people will play the game on both sides resulting in faster matches and less wait times in lobbies.

3 your game will get more and better positive feedback which will result in more sales and success for your company.

4 you will create a better experience for veteran and new players. Veterans and skilled players will get matches that are intense and challenging as it should. While new players and people who play this game more casual will get a chance to learn and improve their skills.

Overall these are my main toughts on this subject and I hope you as a developer read this feedback because I don't want to attack you I want to be as constructive as possible going in depth to explain.

Once this matchmaking issue is resolved you should start focusing on balance find ways to balance this game In a way to keep it fun for both sides.

Maybe rework some maps making them a bit smaller because some of them feel a little too big at times.

Hitboxes is also something that could use tweaking.

Rework mori offerings and keys. Speaking for both sides again going up against a killer with mori is probably the most unfun thing as a survivior this coming from a killer main.

While keys are a frustrating thing for killers sometime.

These could be reworked to function differently making it harder for both sides to use these offerings. For example a key can be used by one or 2 surviviors and that will close the hatch. Or hatch could be removed entirely and keys could work on the exit gates opening them faster.

While mori offerings could function in a way killers can only use mori when they hooked all surviviors at least once. That would prevent killers from insta kill surviviors after an unhook.

Take in depth looks at survivior perks and killer perks.

Since this list is pretty long I'm sure you guys know what kind of perks I'm talking about.

Make chances to both sides that feel fair and try to balance it over time.

Keep in mind while doing so a survivior should have a fair chance at escaping while a killer should have an equal chance at securing kills.

This would mean you have to revisit certain perks and change or rework them for both sides.

Maybe step away from dlc for a bit and instead dedicate a new big patch to the health of the game. Ensuring bugs and balance issues get fixed.

While this is a lot of work and will take a lot of time I do feel like you can.

This is my constructive feedback to you as a developer and I hope this feedback reaches you.

See you in the fog.
