Mechanic Idea - Combos and Compatibility
We all know how the Meta is, and how annoying some builds can be. So with that in mind, i came up with an interesting mechanic that would result in a bigger variety of Perks and Add-ons on high ranks, and also balance out some other builds.
COMBOS
The Combos system will work as a way to buff some old perks by giving the players advantages on matches when they use certain perks. This system is for Perks only. For example: Self Care + Botany Knowledge = an slightly increased healing speed and efficiency. Sprint Burst + Fixated = Extra Sprint Burst speed.
In my opinion, this system will encourage the usage of different perks on high ranks.
COMPATIBILITY
The Compatibility system will work as a way to fix op builds. This system is for Add-ons only. For example: Iridescent Head cannot be used with other Hatchet Head add-onds and neither any Belt add-ons. Freddys can no longer use more than one Slow Down add-on. Survivors can no longer use more than one Bulb add-on on Flashlights, and neither can they use more than one battery.
As i said, this system will fix overpowered builds. We all know that an Iri Head Huntress is the most annoying thing to go against as Survivor, and that a Double Battery Flashlight and SFW is a Killer's worst nightmare. Anything i mentioned are just examples, many other weak or op builds can be nerfed and buffed with this idea.
Remembering: this is just an IDEA. It is NOT a confirmed feature. Plus, not all perks must have a combo, only a few ones.

Isn't this just overcomplicating things and railroading builds?

What do you mean?

The overcomplicating things part is that things would quickly get confusing with what perks get buffed by putting them together and what perks get nerfed together. It'll be a headache for the devs to balance and for the players to figure out unless you own most of the perks and can compare things.
The railroaded builds is just that. If you start putting special buffs or nerfs on perk combos the devs are the ones designing and choosing which perks should go together and which shouldn't.
Also, it kinda sounds like a lot of extra steps to do things instead of just buffing, nerfing or putting caps on perks individually.

Oooh, i see now. My bad. I came up with this idea mostly because of iri head huntress, and in the end i didn't think of much else other than a way to try to balance it.

I doubt anyone would like to have negatives to perks together, but givin that many perks have been nerfed because they comboed too strongly.
I think it would be good to re-enable those combos at balanced levels.
