Kindred change: why not?
Kindred is a God-Tier perk and a must-have for Solo Queuers. It's definitely a really good pick overall and not a wasted slot, but... How about making it a base kit feature? I don't really think it would be OverPowered™ and I play both roles equally. What are your thoughts?

because it is not needed as a base kit feature, yes the perk is nice but it isn't needed at all for solo players.
this is coming from a solo player at high rank you just need good teammates

I'm also a solo queuer but I play in purple ranks, and I still have several issues regarding campers and tunnelers and the perk greatly aids with that. Red ranks are probably much more SoloQ friendly thought

I think you underestimate how much of a buff that would be to survivor. That would make every group hyper efficient on gens in a current meta where gens already go too fast.
What is your reasoning for wanting it base kit?

I'm tired of seeing nobody coming for me because they all think someone else will. Also people that save me when the Killer is rIGHT IN FRONT OF ME.
Additionally, the meta right now is decent. Survivors have fast gens and Ormond, Killers have Freddy and Hospital offerings with Hex perks.

You running Kindred or DS fixes that situation you described.
I'd say the meta is pretty terrible right now. Most hex perks are awful and I don't really see how one specific map and killer have anything to do with making it a decent meta.

I don't want to spend money on a specific character just to get a counter to a situation that could be solved in other manners. For the meta opinion, actually forget what I've said I've been playing for 2 months and this is the only meta I've experienced so I don't really have enough knowledge about how the game was before.

That's understandable. I think you'll actually find as you play more and get better that many of those camp or tunneled situations can be solved without needing those perks and simply through out playing. Yeah there are times you get face camped and you couldn't have done anything at all, but those are pretty rare.
I for example don't run those second chance perks or Kindred generally and don't have any issues with camping or tunneling.

They don’t have reasoning. They’re completely dismissing how broken that would be for killer.

As a constant rank one player on both sides, I frequently play with babies who can't last more than 30 secs in a chase. Kindred is a must have in solo queue. Also, I too believe that kindred should not be base-kit.

This would be the equivalent of making Infectious Fright basekit for killers. This is way too huge a buff for survivors on its own without doing anything else to balance it out

I would love to have Kindred be base since as a Solo, I basically need it to be a decent team player. Unless I absolutely have to, I generally won't even play as a survivor until I have Kindred unlocked.
Sure, you don't "technically" need it in the same way you don't "technically" need two hands in a boxing match! Or maybe I'm the only loser solo player who feels like they have a hand tied behind their back when they don't have Kindred. Just so much wasted time going to hooks when a teammate is already going...such sadness :,(

at most a heavily nerfed version of it.
a reverse BBQ effect on the killer is INSANELY strong and shouldnt just be basekit for everyone to have.

Absolutely.
The impact massively promotes superior gameplay (from killers as well as survivors), and whatever downsides are so nebulous and immaterial that the resistance honestly feels like something to chalk up as that inherent "eh why change anything" fallacy where people favor the status quo just for being the status quo.
At the very least it's a small extension narrowing the information gap between solo survivors, with their intended communication/information limitations of perks and pointing, and voice communication, with its unlimited flow of 3rd party interaction providing that same information (and even better coordination) without wasting any perk slots at all. And, the more that solo/swf gap narrows, the more accurately developers can gauge power levels to better balance the dynamics between killer and survivors as a whole, making a better game in all.
Naturally, kindred doesn't come close to filling that gap when voice-communication basically rivals the strength of any ten perks still... but of course that's what makes VC de facto cheating in the first place (whether people admit it or not). However, we'd still make some progress with this change at least.
Solutions don't need to be perfect, just better; and base kindred would improve this game above any reasonable doubts.
