Hitting a Wounded Survivor
So, without just putting it in the title....
Why is that sometimes when I hit a wounded survivor they don't just go down? Instead they get a yellow bar and they get a silver aura for a few seconds? Its rather frustrating.

That is a perk called Borrowed Time.
It activates if the person doing the unhooking has it and is inside the killers terror radius. So to prevent that from happening you should either be far away from the hook or wait 15 seconds before hitting the survivor which got unhooked.
What I do is to go after the rescuer instead because usually they go down faster.
If no one was unhooked then it's an addon for the med-kit called Styptic Agent. That gives the same effect for 8 seconds after use and can be either used on yourself or someone else while healing using the med-kit.
