Nerf Freddy

He should not be able to teleport to generators. Every rank one killer abuses that ability with BBQ. Either take away the teleport ability or make it to where BBQ has a cool down.

You have plenty of time to get away from a Gen when you see the blood start gushing.

Try levelling Meg to get Sprint Burst, if you need even more time. Good luck.

If you have a issue with freddy teleport and BBQ wait till you experience Freddy Teleport and Thrilling forces you to run from gen and you cant work on other gens for 16 seconds!

But in all seriousness freddy is fine where he is he doesnt need a nerf and doesnt need a buff but if there were anything it would be changing the Z block as its useless for a purple add on

It really wouldn't hurt for them to eventually look at making Freddy a more interactive/engaging killer though. And maybe to remove some of the ridiculous amount of passive benefits he gets.

While I like that he was made into a strong character after his rework, he is now one of the most bland and dull killers of DbD (he's literally just an easier and stronger version of Clown, who is already a very straightforward killer).

From what I've seen in-game and on these forums many players seem to agree that Freddy is not fun, which IMO is worse than him being too strong/too weak.

Iam a freddy main so maybe a bit bais here but i find him very engaging and interactive in terms of playing him and against him cause

When i play against him he forces me to play differently and be more aware of my surroundings i can't treat freddy like a normal m1 killer especially if im in the dream world as thats a guarentree hook for me then. I also have to manage my time in the dream world and when its a safe time to get out of the dream world. He keeps me on my toes and i have to think what my plan where i find a vast majority of other killers its always the same tactic run to loop a and loop a number of times drop pallet and move to loop b. With freddy its like im at loop a oh hes placing traps i have to move to loop b do i have time can i make it take a risk or im at loop a ahh he thought of that loop i ran into a trap with already placed snares well played freddy let see if i can get out of it.

Also the passive sleep that fits in with the lore of him as freddy doesnt force them into the dream world he let the survivors( in film) do that by trying to stay awake as long as possible so they naturally go into the dream world and to the point where the body is so tired it forces you to sleep so the passive sleep makes sense and fits in his lore nicely

While playing as freddy i have to figure out snares placements predict survivors movement most likely areas that survivors run to prepare snares for them so i dont waste time setting up also manage my teleports as there will be times i have no info on which gens survivors are at so i have to guess.

Overall i find freddy more engaging and challenging which forces me to adpat and play differently which is great for the game as lets be honest if every killer has the same counters which some survivors want would it be a fun game for you as killer or survivor? but fun is subjective but i do hope you can see why i find freddy fun, engaging and interactive and why i believe freddy doesnt need a nerf , buff or changes to his base kit again only excepetion is the z block as that add on is really bad haha

I’ll give you an A for effort trying to make Freddy seem like this very tactical and complex killer that requires you to completely change your play style and have this complicated thought processes to place 1 snare around a loop.

But... yeah no. Freddy is the strongest easiest killer even ahead of Spirit in simplicity that requires no investment from your part and allows you to wreck through competent survivors that would otherwise outplay you.

He definitely needs to be looked at and nerfed. He’s got crazy mobility with the teleport, insane passives, crazy mind games with fake pallets, huge slow downs with snares... he’s got basically a everything with no investment.

I really dont understand how he needs no investment from me as you do have to play smart with freddy especially in snare placements, map knowledge, tile knowledge, survivors normal routing etc he needs your knowledge of the game to be very effective.

His mobility is tied to uncompleted gens so his mobility gets weaker as the game progresses as gens will get done so he has less places to teleport to as long as the survivors (not freddy) dont 3 gens themselves also if the survivors manage their time in the dream world it means he waiting longer for his teleport, also less chances of them worrying about the snares or pallets.

Also have you played spirit ? she is not easy at all even with stridor and surround headphones you still need to be able distiguish sound distance and estimate where survivors are i played against those kind of spirits yeah they are challenging but i can still outplay them from time to time and even escape them.

so i strongly disagree with the whole notion that freddy requires no investment as its not true he does require your investment to be effective and that goes for every single killer they need your investment to be effective

You need two things to play effectively either Spirit or Freddy:

    1. Ears. Don’t make me laugh with the estimate distance and try to overcomplicate things that are simple, I can get into how my body works with every muscle inside of me to keep my breathing going... and honestly it’s an automatic process, I don’t need to be skilled to breathe.

“There’s this whole art of estimating the precise location of a moaning Claudette to your right next to a pallet...” yeah no.

    2. Map knowledge. But that’s for everyone and everything. You need map knowledge to pay any killer and any survivor. That’s not something specific to Freddy or Spirit.

So no. You really need nothing special to play those two killers, and that’s why they’re the most lethal: They require no skill to play, the margin for error is minimal, they’re extremely easy to understand and get used to, and they get every reward for no investment.

You should use distortion then. Stop complaining about a certain killer, because lets face it, you don't come across Freddy every game.

Sorry cant see your side of the argument as i do believe you have to invest in all killers including freddy and spirit for them to be effective killers and i do believe spirit is the 3rd hardest killer to learn ( nurse, blight and then spirit). Also theres a lot more to freddy then he 1st appear

but hey i have said my piece regarding the matter and i will contiune to always post my defence for killers like freddy and spirit so guess it just difference of opinon.

the pool of blood is impossible to play against freddy. If you stay in that cycle after you drop the pool of blood, you will die, if you try to go to another spot, you will die again.Blood pool if you want to play against fredd you must have found teleport

Freddy straight up needs a nerf. There's simply too much to his kit with little downside.

    • Fake pallets to slow down survivors
    • blood snares to prevent looping
    • modified terror radius via dream world to completely nullify Borrowed Time
    • teleporting
    • every time you fall asleep the game straight up punishes you. Wanna wake up? go to the highlighted clock across the map and hope you dont run into him on the way there lol. (or purposely fail a skill check and have him come after you)
    • M1 hit guarantees a trip to the dream world
    • 115% speed
    • powerful add-ons

they need to make up their minds with him. His kit shouldn't be allowed to be this well-rounded while other killers like clown and wraith have nothing to show for it.

either nerf M1 hits sending you to the dream world or take away the fake pallets.

Pasting this from another thread I spoke in:

Freddy has no movement slowdown when placing traps/teleporting. No power cancellation cooldown (he can swipe immediately after faking a trap placement / teleportation).

Survivors fall asleep automatically after 60 seconds. The clocks are automatically the farthest ones, getting woken up by others takes longer the more times you do it. He can 99% his teleport, cancel it, and then attempt a teleport after waiting less than 10 seconds.

He can teleport completely, and then teleport again after waiting an unfairly small amount of time.

Freddy has no risk vs reward aspect to him. It's all reward. His power and mechanics do everything for him. You don't need to have a brain to play him. Just hold W and swing. (which will hit the survivors even when they're 3 meters away from you lol)

    -------------------------

    • Clocks should be RNG.
    • Let survivors wake each other up without repetition penalties (they'll go back to sleep after a minute or when Freddy hits them anyway)
    • Reduce Freddy's movement speed to 100% when placing traps or teleporting.
    • Whether he commits or fakes a teleport, pause his power recovery for 10 whole seconds before the gauge begins to recharge again.
    • Increase his Dream Projection Recharge time requirement by 10 seconds.
