Remove/Change mending graphics for Deathslinger
Have to change title from "nerf deathslinger" to the main poiny that sucks.
The mending graphics make it very hard for survivors to loop deathslinger.

he is definitely not in a spot where he would deserve a nerf. He is solide mid tier, low top tier at best.

Sounds like someone has no idea how to play vs a Slinger, obviously the first thing we should do is nerf him instead of learning lol.

I mean, if we go by the logic that Deep Wounds messes with you as he chases you, should we also nerf Legion while we're at it since he can do the exact same, minus the drag you off a gen.
I Really do not understand all this hate for Deathslinger lately. Is it because you finally got the PH nerf so Deathslinger's the next on the list or something?

Slinger has literally no map pressure, that is why his chase is so strong. I do think his terror radius could be a little bigger, and the deep wounds screen has always been terrible. Other than that I think he's fine.
I would much rather go against a Slinger than a Freddy or Hag any day.

It's a power that can only down you if he hits you. If he lands a shot, then he's earned at least inflicting DW on you. He needs to hit you to kill you, otherwise he's a crappier version of Legion... which is saying a lot.

Beating Deathslinger requires a different strategy then your typical M1 killer. Maybe change up your playstyle a bit and you may see better results :)

i seriously hate people like you, no offense but hes a pretty damn weak killer and half the people that struggle with him are the people who dont belong anywhere near red rank. legit played a game today where two people killed them self on first hook versing a death slinger and its a joke, they went down in like 5 seconds because they was being stupid and messing around in the same area, like what do you expect at game start? the same death slinger though chased me for a solid 2mins. now either im a god (im not, i run into tree alot with non meta builds) or you guys do nothing but complain against weak ass killers who move at 110% and cannot hurt you over 90% of pallets...

Sorry, but I disagree with your view on deathslinger. Deathslinger and Huntress require the most amount of practice next to the Nurse. I just started playing with deathslinger myself, and trying to play what's essentially a first-person shooter without a reticule is incredibly difficult. And if you're trying to perfect your aim with a joystick instead of a mouse (like I am), you're going to have that much harder time landing shots.
Deathslinger is also one of the more slower Killers, so a smaller terror radius makes sense. And if you come across a deathslinger that is good at landing shots, then they deserve a lot of kudos as it no doubt took them a lot of practice to get that good.
I agree the mending screen should be lightened, but everything else I just don't see eye to eye with.

Id suggest learning to play against him, knowing when he can and cant get a shot is important.
Those 'free' damage states are requiring him to either reel you in and hit you which takes time, or let it break and go through a stun.
His terror radius is 24m 16m with Montior and his shot is 18m, also in regards to near no warning theres a rather loud ringing sound when he aims at you.
Yeah I agree with you on deep wounds graphics being annoying I wish they went to the black and white it used to be.

You can’t react to the ringing if he just quickscopes you, which is what every deathslinger does. No one aims their gun long enough for ppl to dodge.

Everybody's going to have different experiences as everyone processes things differently. For example I'm not all that great at processing really fast movements, and deathslinger requires a lot of quick fires in order to land shots successfully. I would also love to play Legion more, but I have a tendency to miss a lot of attacks if someone is juking me really fast, and having to lose all progress on my special meter bar even if I just started the feral frenzy is ridiculously punishing.
So for me deathslinger requires a lot of practice, especially since I'm playing with a controller. But for others like yourself, not so much.

I dislike facing some killers that seem to strong counter my clumsy looping ass.
However I can get better.
With the state of the game, and potential for SWFs, I don't think any killer needs a nerf.

He's still a 110% killer. Put an Object between you and him, maybe juke to the left and right and you should be able to get to tile in time, provided you keep an eye out. And quickscoping is far, far from easy as it requires learning what the center of your screen is before hand, similar to Huntress.
That said, I do agree that his ADS time needs some adjustment, but that's it. Nothing major.

If you have any experience with an fps then deathslinger is a piece of cake. All you have to do is just wait. And if you juke to the left and right then he'll jsut come straight up and m1 you. At the end of the day he's still far faster than you are so you can't afford to loose disance if he does't loose any in return for aiming.

he does lose distance while aiming though and you dont need to be constantly juking to the left and right just put objects between him and you while dodging when hes likely to shoot i.e. when youre about to turn a corner out of Line of Sight.

OP here, after reading alot of your posts, I do think we can all agree that the mending status effect graphics are annoying.
Sure Legion can make you mend then chase too, which is also annoying, but most legions just use that power to find a lot of people, and you can avoid a mending hit with a pallet stun for example. Deathslinger can you to mending way easier than legion can without any counterplay.
At the very least nerf the mending effect, let the stupid easy shot get a free damage state, but get rid of the mending.
Also for those saying learn how to play against him, mind linking a tutorial video?

I think Slinger needs a slight nerf, but not the one you are suggesting. He needs a "wind up" to ADS. The fact that he zones for free and has literally no counterplay other than lose LOS is kind of dumb. Also, his chain is 18 meters, not 16, but it's still dumb nonetheless.

The only change that would please both sides is making it so after you ADS you can’t shoot or attack for 1.5 seconds.

How do you put objects between you and him on a map like bloodlodge or sheltered woods? Even if you do put objects between you two he can still just walk up to you until he's close enough to shoot. Also a deathsligner doesn't need to aim for you to need to dodge, his sheer presence within 18m forces you to be constantly dodging. No other killer can do that.

Deathslinger is just an average killer overall, his kill rate is nearly identical to Huntress (66% among red rank killer players). He's strong in a 1 vs 1 chase and has a low terror radius but that's it. His 110% movement speed hampers his ability to exert map pressure at longer distances and he doesn't have a strong 1-2 combo like Huntress to down healthy survivors quickly. If you were to simply "nerf" him with nothing to compensate for the downgrade he would immediately become the worst killer in the game.

It used to be so you can fake your attacks with no delay, causing them to either not jump a window or move towards a pallet. Now there is a cooldown.

Not long. Literally just 1 second at moving at 3.68 (92% speed).

That one second you get means not only 1 second to react, it means you get 1 second more to either get M1ed or M2ed.
The most profitable 1 second of the history of seconds.
