Sorry maybe rework is the wrong word.Throw the power away. Give him another.0

freddy does not even need a buff. I main Freddy and I can tell you that I never lose a match. he's just really hard to use, harder to use then the nurse. I have to say that I enjoy playing him exactly the way he is very much. If he needs anything it would be making it harder for survivors to wake up. take away the wakeup on healing and self care skill checks. make it only gens and other awake survivors that can snap them out of it. and make the skill checks slightly less frequent and the wake up slightly longer. and change his difficulty to very hard instead of hard.. maybe sum other things buffed, maybe.. but when you get really good with Freddy and you know when to sleep them, chase them, hit them and hook them he is absolutely terrifying. and He is my absolute favorite killer. SO NO ON THE REWORK OF HIS POWER

I like Freddy myself, but his power feels almost none existent. Also the fact that you have to use his power just so you can injure Survivor feels kind of underwhelming. Would love if his power allowed you to play with survivors like the movies and his tr influence the speed of sleep transition. Last thing would be subtle transitions, no more broken neck as soon as you start to nod off.0
-
I will agree that his power is underwhelming, but that's only because survs wake up way to easy. his power in my opinion is excellent. yes you have to wait if you not using addons for them to enter the dream state. but you see there auras and they have a huge debuff with action speed. if there all asleep and all gens are powered it takes a very long time for them to open the exit gates giving you plenty of time to kill them.. also everyone is playing freddy wrong. what you should be doing is sleeping people and regressing gens. keep doing it until an opportune moment pops up. rinse and repeat.

Freddy whom I did a journey to rank 1 freddy only became good the less infuses I put on using his power. The best add-ons were dream transition reduction and a lot of the memey add-ons like class photo and red paint brush were unplayable in higher ranks. The build I used was sloppy butcher, save the best for last, bbq because ofc and ruin. His power becomes more effective as you start to wipe out survivors. He is one of the easiest killers to 4k with if you get a lead however getting the lead is insanely hard. His power is best used with low dream transition to get a free hit that's it. He has some strong slugging potential but you will usually have to eliminate a player first before you can start slugging. His power is useless for stalling games when their is four survivors up as they will escape the dream world fast and work to fast for freddy to gain momentum off his power.
Freddy's slow down is a delay that needs the added hook pressure to win. At this stage his tracking needs to be sacrificed for a more deadlier dream world that debilitates survivors the longer you can hold them in it. Not soft hallucinations or tracking, no were talking about movement speed reduction exposure effects on your third or second time transitioning to dream world. You can keep the gen l slow down to make the idea of escaping the dream world attractive but punish players who get continuously sleeped by Freddy with exposure and movement speed reduction.

The way his power functions is kinda dumb. It's 100% RNG. You're at the RNG mercy of people popping skill checks to break the dream state, which can range from instantly to f*cking never.
To top this off, his base aesthetic of being invisible before the dream world might've seemed good on paper, but is horrible to actually play against, particularly for new players. His lullaby has been broken from the moment he was released, and doesn't play properly, so good luck gauging him. He easily finds people because if they move, they're seen (if he's looking around the area), or they stay put and he finds them anyway. A lot of maps are very unfriendly to this issue.
I find it absurd that they made The Spirit have directional, WORKING audio cues for her Phase Walk, but they never fixed Freddy's broken lullaby.

Also, dream transition 5 seconds and can't wake up from self care skill checks, and no channeling interactions except unhooks like madness tier 3 while in dream transition0

Nah, freddy in the right hands can slug, the worst I ever did was go even, freddy's tracking and black box - photo is pretty good, slug all day everyday as much as you can.
Any killer in the right hands can be good. If there is a killer that requires you to be this precise and dedicated to being mediocre at best, then the killer should be as good as nurse. If people want to see other killers played besides nurse and billy, they need to quit saying stuff like "Freddy is fine" because that's how you keep garbage killers as garbage. Thank God he's getting a buff.

Well I want him buffed, not reworked. He has a particular style to him, you can't play him like other killers. If you rework him you basically change what makes the character fun to play in the first place. Freddy needs buffs and tweaks, not a complete overhaul of his mechanics.

I like the debuff ideas, but feel like the power should do something to a sleeping survivor not inflict the sleep itself. The progression effect is nice but a minor annoyance since the first thing survivors do is fail a check to wake themselves.0

I grew up with this franchise as my first foray into horror and it pisses me of to see them miss the point of this horror movie villain. (Then again I mostly blame the fact its based off of the subpar reboot rather then the original film series.)
If we wanted to properly create a true freddy power set his sleep ability should become more powerful the longer survivours are exposed to it. So think a madness meter except instead of tracking makes it a sleep meter applying powerful effects to the survivour.
For example
Tier 1 reducing the dream transition time as the survivours become more exposed to it
Tier 2 A movement speed decrease
Tier 3 Apply an expose effect
Make it so the survivour cannot go below tier 2 But tier 3 immediatly decreases once a survivour wakes up. A buffering zone where tier 3 can stay applied should be tested.
In order to balance this killer some other abilities to spot him should be applied. Some kind of shimer or cloud of ash that could float low below him. Keep the lullaby this will just help him be more easier to spot. Remove the obnoxious mist for survivours only appearing when survivour hit dream state. Make healing skill checks unable to break survivours out of the dream world. Dream transition cancels and prevents any actions except unhooking.
Surviours whilst hooked no longer leave the dream world but will have sleep meter reset to tier 2 upon being hooked. Freddy no longers tracks survivours out of his terror radius. Freddy dream realm action speed progression may need to be reviewed depending on how much impact these improvements make.
These are massive changes that will require new add on changes with many of the changes needing to be tested but I believe this will give freddy the power and respect he deserves.1 -

But you always gotta stay true to personality. Amanda likes playing games where you don't escape trap. Micheal like to stalk in silence and lunge at with knife. Leatherface is the original blindly swinging through woods his chainsaw while collecting faces. Freddy needs to mess with everyone and make them his...(ryhmes with itch)Freddy if he wanted to irl he would just change his form to other dbd killers. He definitely needs thought like this put into him.0 -

When the exit gate is open and you have a survivor down there is nothing you can do when the survivor is hook. And you are not able to slug them because other survivors will heal.
And the rework they have in mind is really good. Freddy getting stronger as he put each survivor in a dream.

G-guys. I'm begging you. Read a bit. No rework.
throw his power away. Give him a new one. He is boring to play as and against. The only killer infamous for instant quits because he's so boring like pay attention0 -

Much like Wraith I think his power should have been looked at before his kit was changed. Now if they change his power we may suddenly get an unexpected power surge because they tinkered with a kit that was ok in the past.
I too hope Freddy gets a power rework before they buff his kit.
I mostly play killer and Wraith was one of my favorite to play (lacking in power because of his POWER not his kit).

So, with the rework coming around the corner, a few hundred more matches under my belt and playing Freddy at each rank, here's my two cents at a rework/buff.
Dream demon:
Survivors have 2 states, awake and asleep.
Power: dream demon: for every awake survivor, Freddy has 1 charge for his power (can be reduced for the red gimmick add-ons). After each use, a cool-down is applied (20-25 seconds) After 5 seconds the survivor falls asleep. The dream world and the real world are two separate places. In the dream world, each generator is in a different spot, and all windows and pallets can only be used at a medium speed. The way to wake up is 1. Complete a dream generator (does not progress the real world gens, but only takes 40 seconds and effected by hex: ruin) or 2. Have an awake survivor wake you up. however, asleep survivors can open the exit gates at a 50% speed reduction. Broken pallets leave illusions in their place that when walked through reveal the survivor's aura. Real world pallets (after being used) can be seen and destroyed in the dream world. All items such as medkits, toolboxes and things of the sort are consumed 20% faster.
While awake: survivors cannot see, hear or interact with Freddy (no grass movement, no lullaby (maybe a 16 meter radius if too powerful) for every awake survivor, asleep survivors gain an action speed increase, and for every asleep survivor the awake ones get a n action speed decrease. After (3-4) survivors are asleep, everyone gets an action penalty. If an awake survivor happens upon a sleeping survivor they can wake them up.
While asleep: survivors cannot interact nor see awake survivors, but can see Freddy and other asleep survivors. Any action done inside a radius, Freddy can see (healing, repairing, cleansing a totem)
Base killer speed: 110%
iller action speed when in a chase (breaking gens, pallets and vaulting): 125%
