Can we fix thanatophobia to fit better to it's description?

Thanatophobia, the fear of seeing death or being killed, becomes weaker when someone dies. Can the devs fix this? It seems more of a design oversight than a balancing mechanic, as the perk is already pretty bad on anyone except a couple mid-low tier killers like plague and legion. I'm not sure how hard it would be, it just seems like adding "dead" to one of the activation conditions of Thanatophobia would work but I'm not a game designer so I'm not sure exactly, this just feels like a niche perk that could be fixed so easily.

I feel it was likely more done for balancing purposes, as otherwise that sounds like something similar to old Dying Light. Having a permanent de-buff due to a teammate dying, which may encourage tunneling to slow the game to a crawl, sounds pretty over powered.

I think they use it in "the fear of dying" sense. So if you're injured you work more slowly until your full health and further from death.

used to include dead people. Then it was too powerful of a snowball perk on top of the in-built efficiency decrease of losing a survivor.

What you say makes a lot of sense, but for balancing purposes I think the fact that a survivor is now gone is enough of a penalty.
