Gens need a nerf and ruin needs a buff

Is it me or was this game actually fun back then?

every time a new game loads up I’ll usually run hex ruin but we all know how badly that perk got nerfed. Ruin was actually very helpful during a game of killer until devs decided to nerf it to the ground. It used to run as where the gen would keep getting regressed if a survivor didn’t hit a great skill check or if they didn’t find the totem. It was actually fun to play the killer until the massive nerf came out. Ruin has basically turned into the survivors al-ly and now survivors are getting gens done without a problem unless they get off the gen. We need the old ruin back.

Lets talk about gens now. I just got back into dbd around a month ago and noticed gens getting done a lot faster then usual even with ruin active. Why does it take the entity 240 seconds to kill a survivor but gens are over here getting popped in under the first 30 seconds of the game? Killers are getting nerfed to the ground and survivors are getting buffed the crap out of. This game is dying for a reason and it needs to change.

An idea for a gen nerf should be adding more time it takes to pop a gen without a tool box and with a tool box it should be a bit faster paced, not too fast but to the point where it gets the job done a bit quicker. I suggest for a ruin buff that it should go back to the way it used to play out.

Hex: Ruin is still really helpful, it doesn't provide any passive slowdown but it massively rewards killers for applying Map Pressure. If you have enough people occupied doing other things, all of the generators will regress back to zero really fast. Reworked Ruin is probably more consistent at applying slowdown at higher ranks than Old Ruin, as Old Ruin could be countered by hitting the skillchecks.

Besides, a lot has changed since Ruin was nerfed. A lot of the maps were shrunk. God Windows were removed pretty much entirely. There were changes to how safe maps were. Not to mention that toolboxes were (rightly) nerfed into the ground.

Don't get me wrong, I thought Ruin was a pretty neat perk as well, but the rework was overall healthier for the game in the end.

yea I can agree on that. I guess maybe it’s not the ruin that’s the problem I feel it’s more that survivors are just knocking through gens like it’s nothing. I will say though I do think the gen progress speed needs a bit of a nerf. Not to slow of a speed process but just enough to make it balanced so gen rushing isn’t super common.

Hate to break it to you but old Ruin sucked against good survivors. I could easily solo gens in 80 seconds flat once I got great skill checks down. At the very least new Ruin has actual agency against good survivors now. You just have to work for it.

Old ruin was a complete waste of a perk slot if your survivors had half a brain and just brute forced it

I prefer this ruin over the old one, it rewards me more as a killer when I pressure gens, its also more consistent unlike the old one which relied on RNG and skill checks
