Ultrawide 3440x1440 FOV issue for both killer and survivor
Hi,
If you run the game at 3440x1440 the fov of both roles is cut short - ie. it flickers for 0.5 sec after u load in and 'zooms' you in which if for example u look at blight pov - you cannot see his sleeves, well you see from his thumb up. for survivor you cant see your feet baisically so it seems to cut the same percentage on both sides. Could devs please look into fixing this? Pretty please <3
I can add a comparison between running in 1920x1080 and 3440x1440 on an ultrawide (34'' monitor).

I would also like to add that if this is because of some fear of competitive advantage (even though other competitive games are not so backwards) then PLEASE let the game use a 16:9 resolution without forcing us to change screen resolution before we play every single time!

i get that they dont want ppl to get advantage (despite 9/10 survivors using reshade+nvididia to make their games bright as lightbulbs) - but making it a disadvantage is horrid - i just upgraded to a better monitor and got punished for that - i have to run the game in window and each time i start it i need to adjust the window size. it's so backwards that its not even funny at this point :(

I also had this problem and was kindly assisted by @KhaineGB.
In order to fix this problem go into the steam properties for dbd, and at the bottom of general where it says, "launch options" you can change the resolution with this: -ResX=1920 -ResY=1080. Be sure to launch DbD in windowed mode and the game should be back to normal.
Unfortunately, this fix has the disadvantage of playing in windowed mode, but at least you can actually play the game.

thanks - i knew about it already tho :)
not sure if this is more annoying or the fact that i still have to scale the window each time i open the game in order to have it fill most of my 3440x1440 desktop.
this is a workaround thats honestly horrid. i am amazed that not a single dev acknowledge this is an issue - i mean they are pushing harder for console market and a lot of people (especially now) will play their console games on ultrawide tvs. as a survivor you literally cannot see above any 'average height' structure in a loop...
i'd just love to see a dev post acknowledging this is something they are aware of and are working on (no need for when etc).
right now issue is in a limbo of people literally being punished for upgrading their monitors/tvs to ultrawide :(
