I miss seeing billys
Ever since Billy's...erm..update..his play rate has dropped to near nothing,, now while I like some of the new tools he has he feels like he's a bit too stretched at present..I think we can afford to toss billy a little bone, my suggestion? Remove the charge penalty from his engravings ,, the only charge enhancing addons he has now are really bad..heck I'd advocate for their removal for something usable if you worry they'd pair with these new engravings, much like with docs electrodes i feel this will be a nice quality change and make the addons feel more worth picking..billy lost a lot of power, he can afford to get a little back and it would be easy to implement

I don't think Billy lost any power at the top of his game. They just nerfed his fun factor. The benefit there is that he feels less oppressive (makes his chases more boring imo but other people might like it) and lower ranked survivors have an easier time.

Maybe it's not Billys fault, but Nightmares and Spirits easy accessibility

I still be gaming with Billy I think he's awesome. Though it is a bummer others left him. His add-ons are realtivelly not so fun. Which is the problem people want to game with good add-ons.

Well if current billy is the desired standard for what a modern dbd killer should look like im out there no way im playing a killer that punishes me for actively using my power. Cooldowns arent fun its just a meter to punish the player for exploring the use of there power.

Don´t worry, their popularity will also drastically drop after some "minor changes to their addons".

What happens when you balance a multiplayer game. Crutchlords who are used to having their hand held cant play without an easy-mode option so they leave to find a new crutch.
The rest of us just adapt, push through the nerf and become better despite it.

He’s not as fun and more tedious to play, new animations and the new mechanics are just not fun anymore, I’d rather play Oni or spirit, any killer really. Billy has gone from being played so many times to near non existent, it’s a shame really.

I'm hoping for a DS nerf where all it does is stun the killer giving a survivor ally a short window to pull them off the killers shoulder making DS so situational survivors are forced to adapt to new tactics and perks.

The time he was famous, there was only him and nurse as high tier killers and she was/is HARD to learn. Now with all the other killers he is not that special anymore, other killers have high pressure as well

im a double engraving billy main but my joy of constantly playing him makes me not want to play with him anymore also his "previous" animations looked better than it is now

Let's be realistic..spirit and nurse at their peaks never hit billy in play rate..so I wouldn't hold stock in that theory

I love Billy but he harder to play now. I still play him but dont use his power as much anymore cause it somewhat harder to steer. Despite the add ons.

Yeah, he is still good to play. Maybe some more players will return to BIlly when they see that he did not get gutted at all.
I remember when nobody played Spirit when she got her (hopefully first...) Nerf. This was a good time. Then everybody realized that she is still strong and everyone played her again. D:

Everytime I see a Billy thread like this I go on a Hillbilly tear. He’s underrated. Theres a few addons I’d like changed but he is not gutted.
I wanted to play him some today because they said they fixed the overheat after breaking a pallet issue with 4.4.2.

Survivors got their wish with billy and no one plays him because of it.
Nothing new to see here but survivor hubris slowing killing both killer variety and survivor's own dreams of reasonable queue times.

I for one welcome not seeing Billy anymore.
Unfortunately I see too many Ogres and Blights instead and they are almost as big of a pain in the neck as Billy used to be. Ogre especially. Blight is a lot more manageable.

As a solo survivor, I love going against Billys. They have that OH ######### factor and if a Billy is actually good, they've put in the time and earned it. I love his new chase music too. It's creepy.

95% of survivors complaining about Billy (and there weren't exactly a ton of them), complained specifically about a few of his add ons. Stop trying to rewrite history to fit your anti survivor narrative. I never saw one person say that Billy's chainsaw should overheat.
And I still plenty of variety in killers so I have no idea what you're talking about

Dude 75% of those posts were from the same people if you bothered to read the names.
So no it wasn't 95% of the survivor community it was realistically the same 10-15 people crying for 6-12 months straight.
There is no history rewriting here.
As for variety is regional as some killers are preferred to varying degrees over others in specific regions.

It´s been half a year. I share many peoples experience of basically never seeing any Billys.
I don´t even mind his reduced power level, the bobbling POV is what throws me off the most and made me quit him for good. Also, they really did him dirty with the addons. Bubba is so much better now, I think only people truly dedicated to Hillbilly as a character still play him.

I mean, his animation changes are the one thing that still throws me off. I can have good games with Billy, but sometimes it just feels weird to play him.
I dont care about the Add Ons personally, I did not run any before, and I will not start running them now. And IMO Billy did not need Add Ons to begin with.

I agree he doesn´t exactly need them for most matches. Idk, I´m just disappointed that they went to town on him on several levels, namely addons, base mechanics, fun (FOV, bobbling, roar) and gave him basically nothing to compensate.
I´m unironically glad you can still enjoy him, apparently that´s a remarkably rare occurence among Billy players.

"Enjoying" might be bit too much, it is more a love/hate-relationship. I played Billy a ton a few months ago until they bugged his animations, so I ignored him for a while and switched over to play more Pig again.
Now, whenever I play Billy, I end up on Hawkins the first game I play, but that is just bad luck. But when it comes to playing, I have good games, but sometimes I just bump into things WAY too often, could be me being rusty with him or anything else, like I said, he feels odd to play.
So it can easily switch between great Billy games with lots of fun and some weird experience for me.

I like that they gave him some stealth options with the addons, scared the crap out of me going against muffler/tinkerer. But I rarely see regular billy anymore so that's an even rarer occurrence

They ruined him.
They moved his camera forward even more so you can't even see most of your weapon (the handle was visible while walking last time i played him). They wanted a nice BIG blind spot infront of him, so the rank 20 plebs could pull off a 360 once in a blue moon, while not thinking of survivors that could already do this.
his movement is janky and annoying to watch while moving around the map
His starting turn rate got nerfed hard. i use to be able to 360 on the top of the hills. you can't do this any more, and even trees offer some safety now.
he has nothing useable to increase rev speed or decrease stun time so 9/10 times the survivor will reach a pallet or window before you can saw.
The cool down ruined chainsaw games around pallets.
weak weak weak.
