Let's get demo's weaknesses right

I've heard and seen lot's of talk about potential demo buffs and changes to his addons, and somethign that's really been getting me frustated is seeing that many people don't seem to realise where his weaknesses lie at and what needs adjusting.

Firstly, his shred does NOT need any buffs or more addons affecting it. It is currently perfectly strong and capable of decimating and punishing even some of the best loopers. I do not see the benefit in buffing or changing his lunge as it would hardly affect good demos who are able to down survivors perfectly fine as of currently, and would only benefit bad demo's who don't know how to use his lunge and boost more of them. It is also very possible that demo's attack could become deathsligner/pyramid head type with buffs.

Second of all, one of the HUGE underlying weaknesses of demo is the fact that he gives audio cues for almost anything he does. The fact that you can hear his footsteps from a mile away and that they are pinpoint trackable makes him extremely easy to loop and completely negates any stealth ability from portals or perks. He also screams everytime he lunges, hits a survivor, hits a gen, breaks a pallet or destroys a well, which can give huge amounts of unnescasery information to the survivors especially in early game when the killer is unknown.

Thirdly, his portals need changes in ways which allow him to more easily and effectively set them up as currently they can be huge time wasters tryign to set them up when they can be destroyed with relative ease. Having a few portals spawn randomly around the map would be a great change as he could easily traverse the map and get early game pressure whilst also not having to waste as much time setting them up. I also think taking out portals should take slightly longer, as a surviovr taking out ur portal crossmap with ease can be a huge gamechanger sometimes and be very frustrating.

All in all, yes demo does need buffs and changes but I hope they get them right and not buff unescasery things and leave others in a pretty poor state.

Haven't played demodog recently but does he still become one with the floor instead of leaving his portal at random? Recall he sometimes emerged 10 feet from the portal sometimes too when that happened.

I havn't seen that issue, ngl didn't even know it existed. Sounds sucky though.

It is while I haven't played demo due to it I should still have the screenshots. Sent a report to the devs when it happened don't think it got a response or recall it appearing in a bug fix. Need to double check the update logs.

I see you don't like strong killers op.

? Me suggesting what needs to be buffed somehow makes me not like strong killers?

Completely agree, he gives out so much information to survivors with so little in return. He makes universal sounds for almost every action he does like you said, and it's not even random roaring sounds, they are linked with the actions. If you learn the sounds, you know exactly when he lunged and missed, when he lunged and got a hit, when he teleported, when he got stunned, etc. You know almost everything he is doing at all times no matter where you are on the map. His portals aren't great either and could probably go for some tweaking, but I don't think they're nearly as big of a problem as the free info he gives.

Liver basekit would be nice. Also i agree turning down the audio by a lot is also necessary (no clue why its map wide) they need the detection radius for his portals to be way bigger also poral placement is wonky

  • All the communication mechanics for solo survivors they wanted to try they all dump tested onto demo basically.

Yea I mean i'm fine with more information for solo survivors but dumping it onto one killer and leaving the rest is not the way to go.

I want to add one global sound a lot of people don't notice but gives away demo position and provides insane safety for survivors. When you charge shred (aka open demo mouth) all survivors can hear the Tssss-click-click-click until its released or demo shreds. This can even be heard WHILE destroying a portal basically informing anyone near a portal that demo just saw you with Killer Instinct. So that side of his portal power is entirely moot as if you.listen for it you.know when to get away and hide from any nearby active portals.
