Dead Hard or Invisible Obstacle?

- Running from Plague on the Swamp, I was in the 2nd stage of disease and headed for the exit. I tried to Dead Hard and when I did so, I froze. I am not sure if there was an invisible tree, invisible Plague fountain, or what, but the Plague then kept chasing me when I went around the 'obstacle' and she swung at me but struck struck the invisible object.
- Could not reproduce, unsure which Swamp I was on.
