Server-sided movement = some people physically cannot play the game

Heya,
I quit DBD for a few months, then came back and realized that literally every movement I make has a 2-second delay. It takes me from five to ten seconds to stop working on a gen. I live in NZ; the closest server is Australia and even there I have 100-150 ping. I'm on PC. To reproduce this bug, buy a plane ticket, fly to NZ and try to play DBD. Doesn't work.
My friend (US) told me that even the game's movement is tied to the servers now. If that's true... well, I can't play DBD well anymore, and neither can anyone who doesn't live in the same country or a neighbouring country to one of the servers. I definitely suggest moving the movement of DBD back to client-side.
