Undying nerf bonus idea💡

So I know Undying paired with Ruin had a chance of being very powerful (still a 50% chance of being useless but I digress).

One issue undying has always had on the killer end is that if found first it was a useless perk slot. So I have an idea:

  • If Undying is destroyed before the perk it is protecting (or just broken first period) it could spawn a random hex perk (that you own for that killer) to a dull totem💡.

This would still disable Undying as far as protecting Ruin but it could give you an unexpected effect that you didn't plan for. Could be useful like Haunted ground, or just a meme like Blood favor based on RNG and what teachable perks your current killer has.

It has potential for motivating killers to unlock more teachable perks and would change up gameplay that both the killer and survivors didn't plan pre-game.

If you support this please comment quickly and favorite the thread so you can find and support it further after it's moved to the feedback void. They notice if there's a lot of continued interest in a thread.

MODS, Please don't move this for like a day or two so enough general players can give thoughts. I know this will go where it belongs but I'd appreciate the time to get a general idea of it's reception. Thank you.

I actually don't dislike this idea surprisingly lol. I think it'd make more sense to have the option to set a backup hex if you'd rather not have it be random. I've spawned right next to enough hex totems and had them out of the match instantly enough times (or had my hexes destroyed instantly) enough times to the point where I just rarely use hexes anymore. Something like this might get me to use them more often

I think picking a backup would be considered op though as it would essentially give you the pick of a possible 5th perk. With the random they may actually implement it because it would just add spontaneous effects the killer didn't pre plan for.

I too would rather pick... But I want to keep it fair enough to not get tons of survivors trying to veto it. That way it might get implemented and Undying won't feel as nerfed.
