I hate keys - how would we fix them?

Make hatch only spawn when there is only one survivor left or when all gens are done.
All problems fixed, achievement untouched. One line of code that needs to be altered

This is the best solution. No more matches where multiple survivors escape before all the gens are done. It would put an end to hatch campers. And it would greatly dampen survivors being able to DC to give someone else the hatch.

Hatch takes five seconds to open. Done.

Easy to find the hatch when you have 3 on comms. Is it common that I see 3 escape? No, but I had 3 left with 1 gen remaining and they were having LOTS of problems and were all on 2nd hook, and then all 3 escaped because they found a key in chest.
I guess I suck.

Exactly! The hatch just needs a short cast time that makes noise. Easy fix.

Keys aren't getting fixed.

I love keys. Killers getting salty over them make me love them even more. More keys, please!

Be completely dumb. Doing the wrong gens, making a 3-gen-strat available for the killer. Be lucky and find a key. 3 ppl escape without a chance of winning the game otherwise.
"Fair" mechanic my ass.

3 people escaping through the hatch means that they got 4 gens done, and to me that’s a sign you haven’t done that good of a job as killer. 3 gen isn’t a win, against good players it’s a stalemate where the game continues on and on until one side gets bored and throws the match intentionally. In that situation you don’t deserve the win any more than the survivors do. The hatch still serves its primary purpose of keeping the game from dragging on forever.

Are mental or what? Take your pills before you write such bullshit.

a couple of easy nerfs for me would be some of these
only let the one with the key escape in the hatch and it closes after them
give opening the hatch a idk, 20 second opening animation so you cant do it in a chase
remove the ability to gain keys out of chests
make the key dissapear if the person who has it dies

Lol. The truth hurts, doesn’t it? 3 gen is a strategy that is a stalemate position that relies upon the survivors becoming impatient, and overcoming your own.

Your truth maybe. Even 5k hours people can lose 3-4 gens in no time. The key is just a unfair mechanic like mori was. Kill one survivor right at the beginning and the chances of escaping tend to be 0.

Maybe this game isn’t meant to be “fair”.

With that logic, the game would be still in 2016 state and the videos i saw made it look like pretty poopee.

Dev's have to hand hold the majority of survivors in this game. Keys are just an extension of that truth.

Because all killers are mega-broken, you have LOTS of advantages and survivors need something to win sometimes and just... sometimes. like Sulaiman said before:
"Keys and hatches are one of the few things that keep solo survivors going, because there is still hope. Otherwise, they can at times just run up to the killer and get themself killed."
I totally agree with him.
PD: this killer is like the other one who asked for more perks to ubicate survivors who are using crouch to hide from him... he really doesnt know that WHISPERS exists?

The only bullshit here is yours. If you lost 4 gens and only killed 1 survivor that's really a poor showing as killer. You would have "lost" that game anyway most likely.
The chance of fishing a key is like 4%. If even that, unless you build specifically for it. If they got lucky then they got lucky. Let it go.
How often do you see 3 people escapes? That only happens with SWFs, or one of them is using Aftercare. And even then it is extremely lucky for it to happen. If you are consistently getting 3 man hatch escapes enough to complain about it there is something wrong with you as a killer. I have never even seen a 3-man hatch escape in the two thousand hours I've been playing. 1 or even 2 man hatch is fairly common. But 3-man? LOL.
